Sup all
Just . . . my car stereo got stolen (damn those ppl) so I have to get a new one.
I was looking at the Eclipse 8454 HU as a replacement for my old pioneer 8450.
Would this be the right way to go? . . . I have about $1500 to spend on a HU but i'm thinking these are quite good. Anyway just chuck us some suggestions if you think there is something better.
Thanks

nothing wrong with that plus you will get heap better sound from 8454. but the faceplate isn't detachable so be more careful

Which Clarion or Rockford?
I have just recently bought an 8454, and the only other deck I considered buying was the Alpine 9835. They are the only two decks around with such great features you can actally use.
A few points about the 8454:
1. Crappy remote. And I mean really crappy... I complained to the Eclipse rep, and he sent me a car type remote to try out, and that was faulty so I can't use it...
2. Very hard to see the screen with direct sunlight on it. Nearly impossible...
3. Can't use sub control when in "pro" mode... so if you plan on using the crossovers/time correction then you won't be able to use sub control.
So yeah.... they are a few things I really hate about this deck. Otherwise it's fantastic.

thanks man for that........
Maybe I should tint my car then
Ok these are the ones he suggested
Clarion DXZ946MP and
Rockford RFX9420.
Honestly not 100% sure on what to get
Know of any other HU that would be better?

Go the Eclipse - or as a cheaper alternative the 9835, Realistically the difference won't be much - however (i haven't played with that model eclipse) the eclipse has it's strong points in SQ

my ears thought the difference was huge. i kept wondering why people could buy an alpine when the eclipse sounded so much better. *shrug*
