Wainting to use alpine amps with my Morel Elate 6inch 2 ways and can't decide which will be a better way to go, I am thinking of going the following 2 ways!
1) 2 x MRV-T420 so I can run the splits fully active
2) 1 x MRV-F540 bridged to run the splits and give them close to about 200wrms (will bridging the amp drop the SQ in any way as if it will then I am not going to do it)
What are your thoughts, which one do you all think I will get the most out of the sysytem.
The rest of the system consits of a Alpine CDA-9835 and a Alpine MRD-M1001 to power a single IDMAXD4 12inch
Also money not an issue so buying two MRV-T420 does not bother me.

I'd go for option #1 personally, mainly because I prefer active over passive any day given the chance, and I think ~100w rms is more than sufficient power for SQ for mids/tweets.
you will need an outboard active x-over though, I didn't see any x-over multiplier listed in these amps specs.

To be honest, just go passive first!!! messing around with active, etc is "ok" but hard to do unless you have a processor that you can simply select a specific frequency on, if you have a "dial" style one, tuning will be hard, etc...
You MAY be talking about "bi-amping" as the crossovers do support this, it uses the passive xover with 2 inputs that are isolated from eachother

I'd also use the T420 myself as well as I am not a supporter of bridging amps into mids and tweeters. Even though bridging will provide a little more headroom, I have personally experienced subtly adverse effects in sound quality with this method of gaining more power. It seemed to produce a slightly harder, slightly more sibilant and harsh sound. If you want more power, do things properly and buy a bigger amp.
The T420 posesses enough power to push the Elates past sensible listening levels.
Good choice of speakers too. I look forward to putting mine into my next car.

winno's right. they say that when you bridge a conventional amplifier, distortion rises dramatically.
in my home-hifi experience, this is spot on the money.
if you've got 2way splits and a 4chan amp, set-up your system to run active, power them from 2channels only, or look at upgrading your amp.
