I am looking to get my Alpine PXA-H700 tuned.

I would prefer to take it to somebody that has extensive experience in tuning this model. also, can show cars that they have done that are getting good scores at the SQ comps.

the setup is a A/V Alpine system.

can any of you guys recommend somebody in Sydney/NSW ?

But why it have to be H-700 spacific. any one with good ears can tune it to the tip top sound. If you llike just get your car to the city and we might meetup somewhere.

i know that tuning can be basically done by anybody that knows what they are doing. BUT, I am intending on entering SQ comps and have spent alot of money on the audio setup.

So, I was wanting to get it tuned by the best there is and somebody with a proven track record tuning what I have.

I suppose its the same as taking your porsche to a porsche mechanic/specialist everytime it needs a service instead of just taking it to the local mechanic that charges half the price. the specialist knows the product inside out, so, they know what is the best way to do something

Can show cars that they have done to get good scores? I hope you don't expect to compare your car as you would a dyno reading.

It isn't paint by numbers.

man, what is the point of entering an SQ comp if you dont even have the skills to tune a HU? learn the basics first before you even think about it.

SQ comp is not solely about 'PAY TO WIN', it is an art. who cares how much money you spend on your gear? you are in the wrong hobby.

your kidding me RIGHT!

I have personally installed EVERYTHING in the entire car myself, from the optima battery(with upgraded alternator and cable), twin 4gau power cables, LCD screens, 7998r, pxa-h700, dvd stacker, 5 amps, boston speakers, sub enclosure, playstation etc.

obviously this install involved stripping the whole car out for sound deadening etc

LEARN the basics ???

so, what you are saying is i should go and buy a RTA just so that I can tune the car to SQ Comp standards ? I have already tuned it to what I think sounds good. but it is not perfect.

In my first post I have asked for somebody that is a specialist in tuning the pxa-H700 as that is what I have got. what I mean by this is that I am looking for a tuner that has previously worked on cars that have performed well in SQ Comps.

I did not ask for somebody to open their mouth like you fortresshill32 and say I can't even tune a Head Unit and that I am in the wrong hobby.

BTW, the pxa-h700 might have a DIN display but I can assure you that it is an EQ, not my HEADUNIT!

LOL, so, can you explain to me what is the purpose of a SQ comp's scoresheet is ?

let me guess, entrants get graded with a number. the higher these numbers, the better the system ?. the person with the highest number is the winner of the competition. this is exactly the same as a dyno comp, so your example of the dyno reading is incorrect.

hmm, settle down folks. biggrin.gif

unfortunately as a 'new' Member it's easy to be taken out of context cos 'we' have not developed a rapport with you, and do not appreciate what knowledge and experience you have. so best to be as specific as possible with any comments.

likewise, long term Members need to be tolerant and mindful of this and NOT presume n00bs are thick as bricks. tongue.gif

NO MORE FLAMING GUYS!

...move along now, nothing to see here...

stiv: golf is an absolute audiophile fanatic, and you would be privileged to have him sample and tune your system.

i too tune 'by ear' without an RTA, simply cos i don't have ready-access to one. however, the benefit of an RTA is that tuning can be performed far quicker as it gives you instant feedback on your system's frequency response. i've found tuning by ear is do-able (and i believe any 'final' tune should be performed by ear anyway), but takes a lot longer in that you tune, retune, fine tune, tune again... biggrin.gif

golf has extensive home audio and car audio experience, including competition.
