Ok so i've got the TS specs

I want a potentially ported box or sealed, up to 2cuft in size, needs to be ~30cm high, 40cm to 90cm long and up to about 40cm deep...
For SQ rather than SPL in an astra hatch, so they have pretty good cabin gain...
What's recommended? If i go ported it'll be slot with a 3" or so slot i guess!
Help?
Thanks
Aaron
P.S. That's linear one way xmax
Volenti
I've given it a quick model in bassbox, sealed is looking good at ~45L, typical sealed driver response, 3db down at 54hz.

The vented enclosure looks awsome at first glance, 60L, 3db down at 25hz, untill you look at the vent that you'd need for the x-max available, it's longer than the car lol

higher tuning frequencies just turn it into SPL boom.

mmmm X max

Sealed will be fairly small, between 0.8-1.4 cu/ft.

You could go ported, around 1.5 cu/ft net, to tune low (30hz or so) will require a fairly long port (take up the rest of the space  ). You don't have to account for the whole xmax when working out how much port area, just the amount of power the subwoofer could recieve. Around 20 sq inches would be plenty for 1600w RMS...

lol, going ported, at least, i think i am, i'm halfway through the box now (mmmm tasty)... 7x3" port should be about 27" in length, tuned to 30hz in about 1.8 cuft net i think (i hope) i guess i can always plug the port smile.gif
