Alright, well im goin to build a fibreglass box in my sparewheel, and i mean actually in the wheel! (its a 17" mag wheel, so a fair amount of space) It allows me to keep the wheel which is what id prefer and can fit a .6 cubic foot box in there with clearance for a sub with a mounting depth of no more than 140mm

Price isnt to much of an issue, under $900 would be nice.

So far the only nice sounding sub that has come to mind is the 10" IDQv2. Ive also heard of the Phase Linear Aliante in which i could fit a 12" because the mounting depth is only 85mm but they are relatively hard to obtain

Any suggestions?

10inch IDQ v2 will be perfect for what you need.

0.6 cube sealed is perfect and the depth is just under what you need.

Maybe a Phd Firenze Neo sub. Look is not so good but it is a full on SQ sub. I think there is a dual 4 ohm version as well?

hmmm they look alright too!!

to be honest, looks are nothing, i do have an xtant X104 which i love but its depth its just to much. But its going to be hidden under the carpet in the boot anyway so looks dont worry me in the slightest. AFter all, we buy subs and components to listen to, not to look at tongue.gif

I will have some Falstaff subs here in a couple of weeks for evaluation, and I'll get them in the car asap of course!

I will be mounting them in shallow side-of-boot fibreglass enclosures. Will get back with results and I'll get around as much as I can so as many people as possible can hear them, comment, and I guess they will offer their impressions here.....

There WILL be a run to Qld as soon as reasonably possible after that, and should have saleable stock by then....

Their reputation is that they are superb SQ subs, and they come from the same design team as the Phase Linear Alliante.
