any of u guys have any experience with genesis amp? is it avaible in oz? how the sound quality of this amp compare with say audison or dls or tru (genesis high end series not the standard series)? i'm interested especialy in the dual mono extreem series,any info i can use for reference? thanks

dont think there avalible in aust at the moment, but from what i have been told there quite a nice amp

what is the difference between genesis and dls...i thought they were the same manufacturer and designer.

dls seems extremely popular in europe in the sq cars

they origonaly were the same amp's but a few years ago they went there own way's

the heat sink is similer but im not sure about the internals

I was also searching for genesis dual mono extreme but they are too (over) expensive..I think AudioArt in perth sell some of the genesis and dls amps
The dual mono seems to be an excellent amp and they are pretty rare here in oz so if you have the money then go for it...

and how much for the genesis amp? so genesis is origin was from dls company?

Genesis are now (afaik) an independant company. I've heard a few of their amps in a car, very nice gear, but the whole setup I heard cost around 25,000, and the amps were bought direct from the workshop. Good if you want to be different anyway, bad if you dont have money to light your cigars with...

Genesis amps are really nothing great if you look at the internals they are just like your mainstream amps. They are quite popular in Singapore and I had a chance to see the internals and listen to their stuff. Only up side is that you can order them in custom configurations, you can have 2 amps in one heatsink if you wanted.

For the money i'd take the comparable dls over genesis amps. Their speakers on the other hand are a work of art! They are probably the best i've seen using scanspeak drivers.

There is no Australian distributor for Genesis at present. I spoke at length to their MD Gordon Taylor at CES a couple of weeks ago (real nice guy). Not sure there is anything there that DLS doesn't have well-covered if you follow.

The high-end Genesis Scanspeak-based 3 ways are similar to Alpine F#1 with different crossovers (less complex, sweeter, imo) but go for 3000 pounds in the UK!
