When mounting horns for best stage and image, what are the things you are trying to achieve. Obviously they should be as high as possible to get the height but then the higher you put them your going to have problems with the side in front of you being closer than the other.
Should you be aiming to get the motor of the horn as clost to the fire wall as possible or should you be bringin the mouth of the horn out to the bottom edge of your dash.
When mounting the horn should you have it on an angle so that the motor is lower than the mouth or mount them flat??
If you have any info on how to mount horns for the best stage and image then lets hear your ideas

Cheers

high as possible is reccomended but sometimes because of foot clearance, not necassariy stage hight but i sort of makes sense that higher would be better.

the top edge of the horn should be level with the edge of the bottom of the dash to provide a continued flare of the horn mouth, it may seem pointless to have it only on the top but it does help with stage height and giving the the illusion that the source of the music is bigger that it actually is.
they should be the same each side in distance from the fire wall and height, but if your dash isnt the same each side then you will have to play around with the angle both up and down and in and out to achieve even sound each side, generally they work best flat with mabe a slight angle upwards but its a trial thing! they could sound crap on an angle.

they are very trial and error and its good to temporarily mount them, they also should be as far out to the sides as possible. there are some people who have had exprience installing them on here in different cars, i've only had some experience with mine in a commodore but im to slack to get mine absolutly perfect because it usually takes some time to do biggrin.gif

I'm loving reading about horns ! I started with them in 1988 . 17 YEARS AGO ! in THE STATES there was aways 2 camps to horn or to tweet. The horn has much better directivity stable amd dynamics than any tweeter ! They are less suseptible to refections and you can be assured that BOTH front passengers get the same sound. LOOK FOR a proven car that has had horns with success !
