Another quick tutorial on fitting decks to Accents with tape decks only

Firstly you need to slide the drink holder out half way and there will be 2 screws behind that screw towards the front of the car.

Then you need to drop the glove box , to do this there is 2 plastic tabs on the sides of it that need to be squeezed in and then you can lower it to access the air circulation rod. You need to unclip this and leave it floating.

Once that is done you need to get under the steering column , on the drivers side of the center console there is another 2 rods that need to be disconnected , for beginners it will be easier to drop the panel which will allow easier access.
The small plastic arm that they clip on have little tabs that need to be held in the flick the steel eyelet off , then pull the sheath out from the clip and leave floating.

After the rods are done and the screws are out , you pull the cup holder half way out again and apply pressure to the bottom of the front panel pulling towards you.
It will be quite firm but they are strong and unlike Excells the clips stay on. You need to work your way around the sides and then the top will come out aswell.
Unplug the clock and the 3 plugs below the vents and it will pull almost all the way off the dash and allow access to the 4 bolts that hold the deck. Hold the panel @ about 45 degrees and leave it there.

Once you remove the deck you will need to unscrew the brackets from the side of it.
When pulling the deck out , more often than not the bright sparks have hooked the main harness around the sir con rods so be patient and get a light and feel your way round the back of it to unplug the deck.
Drill new holes in the brackets so that it sits inline with the old deck.
You will need to hammer flat the countersink holes from the old deck mounts , also the little bent tabs that were for the old deck.

If by chance you have an Accent with a CD then you dont need to do the last steps , you can just use the cradle and put that into the hole of the facia once you refit it.

If you really want it to look alot better than the tape deck facia then go to Hyundai and purchase a new CD facia @ about $80 and use that , it fits the same and looks 100% better.

This is the tape deck version . .

and this is the CD version . .

Notice how its square like 99.99% of aftermarket decks !!!
The hole is DIN size and will accept the cradle of all decks.
The part number is 84740-25300YN

Once you have mounted the deck you need to do the wiring.
Peel about 8" of wrapping of the wiring harness and you will see 4 pairs of twisted wires , these are your speaker wires , they are as follows ;
Front left = Blue and red
Front right = Brown and white
Rear right = Blue and orange
Rear left = Green and orange
Im not sure which is negative as it takes to long to pull all doors off and back panels , next time I do one I will take note.
I used the frst colour listed as rule of thumb

Power wires are ;
12V consant = Orange with Black trace (there is 2 wires , you will need to leave both joined together)
12V accesories = Blue with Black trace
Ground = Black
Illumination = Green with orange trace

2 spare wires are pink and green with black trace , dunno what they are.

Good luck
