just as the title says guys, how good is flashtac ? i am planning on doin my whole ute in it! takin out everythign and just going ballistic in it, would be heaps cheaper then any other brand name sound deadener, i plan to have EVERYTHING coated in it bar the roof.

let me know what you think and how much i should b payin for it..

It was the flavor of the month, 6-12 months ago. Since the advent of G-Spot, bugger all use it.

I used it, and I now hate it, it fell off in all the areas I wanted it to stay, and is stuck with deft grip in areas I don't want....

Don't waste your time with it.

Are you sure? Measure how much you need and compare it to some better stuff (not extreme stuff). You'll get quite a suprise.

I think your better off spending your money on g-spot or dynamat or something and doing it properly. In the end you only get what you pay for and would need 3-4 layers of flashtac to get the same results as dynamat or something.

yeah, i think the dedicated namebrand stuff is better. but it's hard to know what suits your needs cos you may only need the lesser benefit of Flashtac, whereas g-spot/dynamat/etc may be overkill.

...although it's hard to go 'overkill' with SDer; you usually never have enough.

i've used Flashtac in some places in my car and it works well there (had no probs with it falling off either, but it's not in/on my doors or exposed to the elements; it's in my boot). but admittedly, i've used dynamat xtreme in the more important spots like my doors and find this stuff excellent.

so, 'some' is better than none, and if you're on a really tight budget, consider Flashtac. otherwise, if you can afford it, consider other products.

If you have it use it.
i have used it and it worked ok.
does a good job of sealing doors.. but then again so does gaffa tape..
can't really see how well it works as a sound deadener.. adds some weight to doors and stops some of the vibrations. but might be better off paying more to make sure it will do the job completely.
