hi, does anyone try them before....can someone give a review if u have one and how does the bass sound b4 and after.

I'm really curious with this thing.
Cyberpunky
The epicentre is a bass restoration unit ie its designed to put back the deep bass the tape recording process looses.Even MP3s dont loose bass like tapes did. If you use CD and who doesn't ? then it really will just add too much bass info and so isnt much use these days, as CDs have all the bass they are intended too.

Its a product thats days are over, it may be of slight benefit on radio but I wouldnt buy one for that and think there are easier ways to enhance bass without resorting to a device that will try and re-inseret things that are not missing.

its a good way to destry woofers as well. usd to sell 2-3 a week back in the early 90s.
@nThOnY
I doubt there is any bass missing when I listen to Usher, 2pac, Craig David etc. I am curious as in how the epiccentre manage to find out how and what amount of bass is missing, and the bass restortation though.
Mr_Bob
i believe it works by re-creating harmonics, so where you had a 60Hz fundamental bass hit, it'll re-create the 30Hz and subsequent harmonics that get dropped off in poor recordings. (media limited frequency range, like records and tapes benefit most)

you can still use them with CD, but more of a fun toy, than a devise to solve a problem.
@nThOnY
Oh icic, thanks for the explanation. I guess it would be a good gadget to have when my bass mood comes.
bob
but that said, it won't give you more bass as such off a cd. It will just end up boosting things.

If you already have the bass information then it will simply boost the info Anthony, so you are probably better off "when the bass mood comes" selecting the bottom 1/4 of your EQ and maxing it out.
Will do exactly the same job - just save you the effort of a couple of hundred for the epicenter and give you a bit more cash to play with once you rip your speakers! wink.gif
