after a while having no sub in the car...its finally time to get a sub and an amp

My front stage is Dyn 240GT (midbass 7")

I want a soft sounding sub but tight..

I used to have 12" w6..until its got stolen I quite like it but it is a bit too boomy for me (but maybe because I did not power it properly)

Now questions: should I buy 1 x 10" or 1 x12"?

atm I'm considering:
1. 12" W6v2 Price: AU$550
2. ID 12V.3 Price: AU$349
3. IDQ12V.2 Price: AU$449
4. 11" Focal Utopia Price: $600 (2nd hand) - this is recommended by my installer to run 2 of them free air..but a bit out my budget ($1200 for both used subs)

I heard IDMAX is one of the best sub for sq ..but it retails around AU$800, so a little bit expensive for me

And which any of these subs have the smallest enclosure box for it? since I don't want my sub to take up the whole boot
I'm leaning towards the IDQ12V.2 atm or do you think the ID 12V.3 wil do?

As for the amp..I'm clueless..what about JL amp? rockford? which one? any other amp?

for SQ on your list i would pick JLW6V2. The W6V2 is more expensive than idmax if u buy from the shop.

what is your budget on amp ?

basically this is what I can get:

12"W6V2: $530
12"W3V2: $350

Amp:
JL 1000/1: $750

Is there a hell of difference between the W3V2 and W6V2?

that's a cheap w6v2, isn't the retail around $1000? from my opinion any sub can be use for sq (but not any sub can be use for spl), depend on how u tune it, but if u can get the w6v2 for 500, go for it

what about the dls MW12? I can get 2 of these subs for $500 so if some1 wants to go halfs. hahaha

the mw12 is a fairly good sq sub isnt it?

and how much do installers usually charge to buid an enclosure box? which one is best for sq..ported or sealed?

custom enclosures usually start from $200 done professionally

well manufactor states that these subs are better in a vented enclosure, but that said a mate found this review on it which was tested in a sealed enclosure (they retail for $599).

JL Audio all the way 12w3v2 if you can get the 12w6v2 for $530 buy it now. JL subs are one the best no doubt.
