Full Version: Audison LRX 1.400 not powerfull enaugh?

To all sifu here,

recently one of my fren comes and tell me that his Audison LRX 1.400 (650w @2ohm) is not powerfull enaugh to pump his 12" D4 IDQ (1 cu.ft box) sub. does it make sense or what could be wrong?

IDQ's are rated at 350 wrms. its max rating is 700w. get your friend to check his gains:)

The amp gain was not yet middle. should he max it out? i dun think so right?

the position of the gain tells you nothing alone, as it depends on the voltage signal of the preouts feeding into it.

tell him to refer to the tute about settings gains/xovers to ensure it's tuned properly:

mini-hyjack! seeing that the sub is rated at 350rms, and the 1.400 pushes into it 650rms, shouldnt the gains be set pretty low at the end of the day?

the gains are set according to the preout voltage of the HU. A higher preout voltage would require the gains to be set lower and vice-versa
