My stereo consists on 4 x 6" speakers and 2 tweeters connected to an alpine amp and 2 x 10" subs hooked up to another amp. Whenever i turn the volume up loud on the head unit all the speakers connected to the alpine amp cuts out for 2 seconds and then turns back on and off again etc, untill i reduce the volume.
any reasons or solutions to this problem ?

could be:

- low-voltage causing the amp to cut out
- excess clipping causing the amp to cut out

what size is your power wire?

what is the power rating of the amps?

are your gains set properly? (see gain setting tut in the tutorials and faqs section, link in my sig)
