ok so will there be an audible difference ?
the 4x100 is rated at 100wrms PER CHANNEL at 12 VOLTS ! pretty tempting .. (4x130wrms at 14.4v)

what would you run off it? what quality speakers and HU? are your ears experienced with audiophile 'sound'? how loudly do you like to listen to music?

if you haven't got really 'revealing' speakers or a high-end HU, or your ears aren't fussy, then you won't notice the difference, especially at low~moderate listening levels.

from the quality of your speakers, there are gains to be had with high quality amps. you should hear a difference - it will be there, but whether you notice it or not is another thing. i certainly noticed a change in sound when i upgraded from alpine V12 amps (series 1, circa '96 build) to audison VRx; for the better too.

i think the jaycar amp should be good, and won't sound 'bad' in any way (or at least i wouldn't expect them to be bad). it's pretty easy i figure to make 'good' amps these days.

but to make 'exceptional' amps is another thing, and unfortunately it's often reflected in exceptional prices.

however, it's not only about SQ, but also build quality/solidity, cosmetics, reliability, features, etc. and i personally prefer high quality over high power, and would choose the higher quality amp with less power than the cheaper 'high power' one. this is especially so considering i personally don't listen to my system at really high volumes (cos i value my hearing and comfort as much as anything), so i know i don't need biiig power. it's also not to say a stereo won't benefit from 'headroom', like a V8 crusing along as opposed to a 1.3L buzzbox.

so you probably have to weigh up your priorities and whether you wish to pay more for overall quality and/or sound quality. but to actually gain a significant SQ benefit, you probably need to spend at least double to triple the cost of a jaycar amp and probably accept lower power output.

which probably means instead of a $300 4-channel, look at $600~1000 amps at least. as i doubt spending $400~500 would yield better SQ let alone better value. examples of what i would consider nice mid-price amps include a JL 300/4, audison LRx4.300, PG xenon, soundstream reference, alpine V12, etc.

BUT, you've got the good gear, so why compromise now?.......money excluded of course.
