GUIDELINES FOR USE OF THE FOR SALE FORUMS
Due to increasing fraudulent activity by members on these forums, new guidelines have been put in place to protect buyers and sellers.
By posting or using this forum you agree to be bound by the guidelines and understand that at a Moderator or Administrator's discretion, inappropriate actions or misuse of this forum may result in your IP Address and Username being banned from this website.
Note that ALL new posts are subject to moderation, and will ONLY be approved by a moderator when the post complies with these guidelines.

There are only three forms of payment methods accepted by sellers of items.
* Paypal (www.paypal.com.au)
* Australia Post C.O.D(www.auspost.com.au)
* Cash on Pickup

Paypal is free to signup, but you must verify your account with a credit card before being able to receive payments (this also confirms your identity and address). Paypal also includes Buyer Protection, and includes a Dispute Resolution system. This is the method strongly encouraged by Mobile Electronics Australia.
Australia Post C.O.D (Charge On Delivery) is the safest method, as you only pay for the goods when you receive them. The buyer receives card in the mail from their local post office, and then pays at the post office. A money order is then sent back to the buyer. There is a $7.00 fee charged by Australia Post for this service. As a general rule, we suggest any item sold over $100, that the seller pays this fee. Any item under $100, the buyer should pay this fee. Shipping payment is negotiated upon sale.

This forum is for use only by private (non-commercial) members of Mobile Electronics Australia to sell their items. This forum is NOT for use by retailers or distributors, or anyone selling bulk items for personal profit including bulk sales.
Moderators reserve the right to question, edit, close, or dissaprove any advertisement that does not comply with the above, or appears to be obviously selling an item imported from overseas for profit.
Members posting nuisance replies (bagging of products, off topic discussions etc) will recieve a warning.
EMAIL ADDRESSES and PHONE NUMBERS are not permitted to be posted in threads. All discussions shall take place either in the forums themselves or via Private Messages. Private contact details will be removed to ensure privacy.
EXTERNAL LINKS to eBay auctions, or alternative sale websites are not allowed.
GROUP PURCHASE Ads are not permitted.

* Item full name and model etc. (include things like age, type etc ).
* Location (where you live, and whether or not you will sell interstate etc)
* Item condition description (provide as much details as possible, try to give the buyers a visual description of what to expect from your words.)
* Reason for selling (A lot of buyers will ask this so please provide a reason, even if its only to say that you need the money).
* Price and price conditions (such as negotiable, non-negotiable, will or will not consider selling items separately).
* Payment Methods: There are only three methods available for your post to be approved. Paypal, Cash - Pickup, or Australia Post COD.

* Pictures (if you don't have pictures and cannot get any please state as such. If you think you can get pictures soon, please hold off posting the thread until you get the pictures, we want to avoid the posts where the first 5 replies are people asking about pictures). BUMPING YOUR THREAD
You may post a single reply with the word "BUMP" on your advertisement to relist it at the top of the listing of For Sale items in each 24 hour period. If you bump your item more than once in 24 hours, your post will be completely deleted and you will not be notified.
WHEN YOUR ITEM IS SOLD
You should post a reply stating the item(s) is SOLD.
MAKING A DONATION
You should also make a donation to Mobile Electronics Australia upon the sale of your item. MEA provides this resource to you free of charge, and relies upon advertising revenue, as well as donations from members. Even $1.00 makes a big difference.

BUYERS PLEASE READ THIS
Recently there have been increasing amounts of complaints received from buyers regarding not receiving goods they have paid for on these forums. This is why we ONLY allow the two forms of payment. If you choose to use another payment method then you do so AT YOUR OWN RISK. Whilst we do not and will not get involved in these disputes, we do make the following recommendations.
Deal only with someone who is prepared to give you contact information (and verify those details in www.whitepages.com.au) and even better speak with them on the phone BEFORE you commit to purchase.
Transactions through these forums are done entirely at your own risk and complaints will NOT be handled by Mobile Electronics Australia Administration.
