I am looking at getting either one of these subs. I will be putting it in a small sealed box behind the seats(1.5 cubic ft) in my BA XR6T Ute. I have 2 x Velocity Burning desire II amps but only want to use one of them in ths set up (1100w RMS @ 4ohm or 2000wrms @ 2ohm should be more than enough) I know both units will be loud, but I am more interested in deep clear base that hits quite hard.
So what does everyone out there think???

How about an RE XXX 15"?
Failing that, it'd be a really tough choice between these 2 subs, both tob subs

Have you checked the size of those subs? It's gonna be pretty tight fitting either in a BA...

1.5 cubes won't get the most out of either woofer, also, you can easily fit 2.5 cubic feet in a BA.
If you insist on going 1.5 cubes, look to a 12". Our 3512 would be a good option, our 3500 beat all comers in a recent US SQ review.

How about the Image Dynamics IDMax 12...available in dual 4 or dual 2 ohm VC configs and aroung the $850 mark...Rockford Fosgate Power T1 12" again around $850...Type X Alpine similar $$$...getting a 15" to work well in 1.5 cubes won't be an easy task you may be better off going for a woofer to suit the enclosure size you have to play with

Its always a good idea to calculate the available space and then decide which woofer/s if likely to give the best result given the space constraints. Works a lot better than the other way around.

So what would the Ideal sealed box size be for either of these drivers

DD woofers are optimised for ported boxes.
Running a small sealed box robs woofers of dynamics, output and low end extension.
A 9515 will run in a small ported box, such as 2.5 cubes, a 3512 or 9512 is a better choice for 1.5 cubic feet.
One of our 12" woofers in the right box will easily deliver more output than two sealed 15s.

I am not after pure out put, i want quality

Dude, all the subs you have listed are quality subs...
But a sub will sound **** if it's not put in the correct enclosure size.
Look at a sub that will suit the space you have, and if you're keen on a 15" that requires a big box, see what you can do to give it the size box it needs.
As DD Phil says, a quality 12" in the right box will outdo a 15" in a poorly designed box for it in both pure output and in quality.

Pioneer 121SPL (bout $600) give you plenty of bass and you could get away with a 1.5cuft sealed box, im running mine in a 1.85cuft sealed box and its excellent, extremely bassy and very clear.
But as DD Phil said, you could fit a bigger box in there, I would say you could get a 2.5cuft ported box in no real worries and should lose too much room. Go with a 12" if you want to keep box size under 2.0cuft, if done right then you wont even realise a difference from a 15
