Hi all,
I am chasing a set of replacment ambient tweeters, they need to be .75' in size.
The only company I can find is Rockford, and I want to have to go down that path, unless I have to.
They have to be .75, as I can't mod this panel anymore, as I can't replace the suede to match it.
So what's out there??

The Pioneer TS-T15 is .75 inch, and I believe OZ make a 3/4 inch as well, but I dont know the model number, and I cant get on their site here

Excellent thanks gents. I only really want them for RTA response.
The TypeX, sounds a good idea.

So are you after a .75" external dia AKA mounting hole size, or just a .75" dome, because there are lots of .75" tweeters but obviously there outside diameter is going to be bigger.

No thanks, not a fan of Total Recoil.
They are only going to be playing from 17-20k, at -8dB or so.
Yes, they need to be .75O/D

I was looking at Rainbow's, unfortunately they only come in 25mm, need to do some more research.

Yeah the CDT is a .75 but that is the tweeter dome, or that is how I read it, and if so the cut out hole would likely be closer to 1", but it may be worth shooting them an email and checking. I'm probably wrong lol...

Phil, the OD of the mounting hole is 35.2mm Or roughly 1.5"
I have attached a few pics of the pods.
The mounting hole is quite a decent size, but once I use the tweeters flush mount kit I am limited. I have tried a set of Boston Pro tweeter flush mount brackets, and they don't fit.
I think this why I am limited to a .75" tweeter, once the mounting cup and all are attached, then it its a pressure fit.

what about finding the tweeter you'd most prefer to use, and not using the flushmounting kit? just the tweeter by itself? then use another form of attachment (silicon at the back, or around the edge) to hold it in place?
btw, I got those Oz tweeters to try out as ambients...never done this before, so if I dont want/need/like them you can have em

Bro that would work, but I am stickler for neatness, I can't have exposed edges visable. The flushmount kits are the best way to finish the tweeter mount off.
I rag on people who half finish things and leave ratty edges, so I couldn't do it myself

THanks the offer of the Oz, let me know

Now you say that, thats what I was asking before and you said the hole was .75" or rather thats how I interpreted you.
The CDT's will fit along with countless other tweeters.
When I get home I'll post links, as I found lots earlier that would fit that size hole.

FFS, I made a mistake, I didn't have the car, to measure the hole when I posted. I could only go off the size of the previous tweeters, I had which were .75".
Hence why I updated once I knew.
Sorry!

Ah ok, sorry I didn't mean to come across like I was having a go at you, I was just kidding around

, your system and car sounds like it will be very nice, so I'm keen to try and help you find some different options

I remember seeing some tweeters that had cutouts around that size I'll link them when I get home from work.

Then if your after a cheap easy solution which as you say it's only for the RTA then these should do the job perfect
http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=1767 apparently they also sound quite nice when crossed quite highly, the frame size is 39mm so at a guess I would say the coutout needs to be about 34-35mm.
Dayton also have a version of the above tweeter, 4ohm higher sensitivity etc... go here and scan down a bit,
http://www.daytonaudio.com/loudspeaker/drv_miscdrivers.html they can be sourced from here
