Hi guys
I have a slight issue at the moment.
I setup my stereo system and its been working perfectly for the last 3-4 years.
Basically the setup is:
2 x 5" speakers connected directly to the head deck
2 x 6x9's connected to a 1000watt 4 channel amplifier
1 10" subwoffer connected to the 1000watt 4 channel amplifier.
The amplifier has two built in fuses as well as a manual one I put in before the current gets to the amplifier to hopefully save the amplifier.
So its been working fine till now.
All of a sudden the sub and 6x9's stopped working (but the 2 x 5" continued to work). So I originally thought it was the amplifier or the fuse. I tested the manual fuse and it was fine.
I put in another amplifier which previously was working....but that didn't work either. The amplifier actually turns on though.
So from there I thought it must be a cabling issue (that connect the ground to the head deck). So I replaced the cables and it still didn't work.
This led me to the conclusion that it must be a head deck issue........however when i tested the cable wires (that connect the ground to the head deck) again with the stereo still on I found that when I attach the two cable wires (that connect the ground to the head deck) together that the speakers work for half a second before cutting out.
This has got me puzzled. does anyone know what might be happening?? or any advise??
Cheers
Simon
