Hi guys,

I posted a little while back about which amplifier to run to power a PG TI Elite 12 inch and am a little closer to a decision at the moment. I've been a bit side tracked lately as my car had an unfortunate meeting with a Kangaroo on the highway. Anyway I've narrowed it down to about 4 amps, all of which are very tasty if you ask me. Trouble is deciding on which one. I was wondering if I could get your opinions on each/any of them esp if you have used them. The elite has dual 4 ohm coils.

The contenders in no particular order are;

Audison VRx 500.1 (second hand)
Zapco 1100.1 (New)
PG Xenon 1200.1 (new)
Vibe MB4 (new)

Matching amplifiers isn't really a concern of mine at the moment as they wont be on show. Also would there be any noticable difference between the ones above or does it just come down to cosmetics? Just checking that the power output between all four wont be noticable at lower volumes anyway, as this is all I will be playing it at. I'm not after monsterous output. I heard this off a Xenon 1200 before and this was way more than enough for me at half volume and I thought that it still sounded decent.

They're all great amps..
It'd be hard to choose cos you dont really care about the looks of it..
I'd probably go for the Zapco but it really would be a very fine line between any of these.

i would say the zapco or pg xenon

If I was rating it by the looks, it would be audison, Zapco, Xenon, Vibe.... So I guess I did rate them by the looks biggrin.gif

Zenon....... very underated amp... you'd probably get closer to 1450 wrms... so that's plenty for that sub.

my vote goes to the rf t1001bd amp

very impressive amp puts out almost 80%or more of its total power into 2ohms

zapco for sure........many people say.zaps r overated, not worth the money etc2....but try it yourself. Make full use of the symblink function.....thats 1 of the bigger advantages it has. Maybe not so much for subwoofer driving....but makes a very substaintal diff if used on the front stage. ive used zapcos for like 5-6 yrs now........never once did it shut down on me.
