what would i be expected to pay for a brand new 12w6v2?

also does anyone know where u can test some out in WA
shanmag
dam thats a pretty expensive sub!
vtviper
you get what you pay for
shanmag
yeh? i might have to start saving then!
BlackRain
It's a good sub though. I'm running one myself wink.gif
shanmag
yeah? how much power u running to it?
shanmag
oh and also have u got ported or sealed box?
BlackRain
Sealed box.
500 quality watts from a Zapco amp.
shanmag
are they more suited to sealed?
Wasnt Me
Have you finalised your decision on the sub choice? There are cheaper alternatives with just as good results.
shanmag
i havnt made a final decision!

just trying to research a bit before i buy!

got any recommendations?
Brucee
well for JL sub i recommend u buy from overseas, cos the price in here just ridiciluos, for $600 u can get JL W7V2 from overseas, and for W6V2 just around $300-400, but if want to buy another sub (i.e alpine), buy in here, cos the price is almost the same with overseas price
shanmag
u mean buy off of ebay?

ive seen the prices on there... probly around $500-$600 inc postage and customs/gst or woteva!

i duno, its a bit of money to save but i dont want to get it and it breaks within 6 months and i have no warrenty? i know they offer 12months warrenty but then u got the hassle of shipping it all the way back there and back (at your own expense) and whats to say they will even accept it for return/exchange?

so many choices...
kinoshita
subs r the last thign u want to get overseas...especially from america. its just now worth it.the shipping is a killer. A boxed 12w6 would maybe cost 300usd new, plus bout 200usd shipping n 20percent gst/tax. Morever, try shopping around.u often find that prices vary quite substaintally for local JL gear. good luck
shanmag
yeah i think theyre shipped from asia!

id much rather buy one from a shop so i have full manufacturers warrenty etc

ill have to look around and see if i can pick up any good deals!

Will be getting my W6V2 soon via ebay.. about $510AUD shipped

shanmag

[stealth]
yeah thats right... havent had any experience with him personalli.. but looks good on paper.. smile.gif
shanmag
yeah thats who i saw aswell.

id be interested to know if they're any good or not!

they seem to have plenty of products and plenty of good feedback!

wot amp r u getting for it?
[stealth]
I already got my amps ready... just need this single sub then custom install..

shanmag

Well another sub you might want to have a look at is the Image Dynamics IDmax. They will sound as good as the w6. The good part is the rrp of it is on $849. Lots of people here use and and has fallen in love with it. (inculding me)
shanmag
yeah ive seen alot of talk about them...

i went to their website and the 12" are 1000w rms arent they? that means ull need an amp twice the size for the the ID MAX? i was planning on geting 2 subs (hopefully) so is it worth the extra money on bigger amps?
Brucee
ID MAX is good or Kicker L7, rrp only $699 i think, and in overseas Kicker L7 and JL W7 is at the same level, so worth a try
Wasnt Me
lol 1 big sub with lots of power will be more than plenty for bass production. 2 big subs is overkill, unless you like alooooooot of bass.
=P

BTW, are W6V2... definetely for sealed boxes??
