RMA
Elettromedia have at CES 2008 launched some very interesting products most of which are due for commercial release at the end of this quarter (March).

The full Hertz range was on display, includuing:
  • SPL Monster (which I can confirm will come in a number of VC configurations includion 0.5 + 0.5 and 2 + 2) the SPL Monster is one stiff speaker, you could litterally stand on the cone without moving it!
  • Energy Subs
  • Diece Subs
  • Energy Amps

Probably of most interest at Elettromedia's stand was the new Audison THESIS components which are set to make BIG waves.

The new THESIS line up has three destinctly new additions
  • bit one (processor) which will give products such as Audio Control and Rockfords 360 some REAL competition. Full specs and pricing will be released closer to the release date, suffice to say the unit interfaces with your laptop to do some truely wicked tricks not only as a factory converter but also as a front end control for the new amplifiers.
  • The Thesis has been extended to include 3 new amplifiers at a slightly lower spec than the current model but well above the specs of any VRx, the new two & four channel and monoblock models will incorperate computer set up with electronic security and setup.
  • Thesis Speakers were possibly the best kept secret - the new speakers will feature, a mid bass, mid range, tweeter and 10" sub all with a seee through dustcap that is functional not justr cosmetic.

Surefire
They certainly don't muck around with the internals of those amps shok.gif Will the speakers be aimed at giving the Focal Utopia's and Rainbow Reference a run for their money or are they more in the Morel Supremo/Hertz Mille category?
RMA
I am told that a three way setup (No crossover) will retail around 3 to 3.5k USD that is approx 3.5 to 4k AUD.

Given these prices, it is a safe bet they are targeting the best of the very best.

The tinsel leads on the spl sub look very small? why are there multiple runs?

Interesting cooling in the thesis speakers, never seen the bottomplate and by the looks, the magnets crossdrilled like that.

What is the function of the clear dustcaps?

Looks the goods Phil smile.gif

We have been told that approx double the price of a Mille in comprable size (TBC)
If that is correct then:
$1500 10"
$1900 12"
$2300 15"

But it is only speculation at the moment.

S P N O R S E - Sorry, see I cant even spell the word. tongue.gif

The price I have been told will be around $600 - $650 USD - I am targeting for Australia to sell them for $600 - $650 AUD.

SPL monster pricing is very competitive, what's the power handling?

Hmmm the price of that Audison thesis processor is extremely good if we can get it at that price. Would definitely consider it, compared to a RF360 or Audiocontrol selling for ~ $1000 mark.

Re SPL Subs - I can assure you the SPL subs have been over engineered, the multiple runs are for DVC.

The THESIS speakers use a number of innovations, the dust caps whilst a visual thing are also an integral part of the design.

Distributors around the world are awaiting the full kit of information, when it's released info will be posted.

SPL Monster specs / power is all a closely guarded secret ATM - believe me I wish it were different !

We will see what the real price is when the paper work hits my desk, so please don't hold me on that $600 - $650.

I have been told that the new unit will do all that the JL Clean Sweep, Audio Control and RF units will do plus more and better, this is a bold statement, so when I get the full specs we will see.

Prices on thesis amplifiers? Specifically the 4 channel?

Did something happen between Elettromedia and Focal?
Coz it seems that Elettromedia is entering into Focal's territory.

First Hertz Mille, now Audison makes speakers.

And Focal fights back with their line of amps.

Have any info regarding this?

No pricing has been released at this stage, but as it is THESIS it will not be cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

Certainly on a two channel vs two channel it will be less expensive than the current THESIS.

There is nothing quite so sinister happening.

Elettromedia has four brand names which compete in the market independent of each other, Audison, Hertz, Connection & A-Z Audiocomp.

Hertz has speakers and amplifiers, but Audison only ever had amplifiers, the THESIS line needed its own "Best technology, no expense spared" speaker and this is why the THESIS speaker line was developed.

THESIS speakers I have been informed will consist of a Tweeter, Mid, Mid Bass & 10" SVC 4 ohm Sub. There are no plans for any additions to be made down the track and there are no crossovers being offered.

The tweeter, mid, midbas combo I have been informed will retail at over $3,500 USD.
