RMA
Audison have released a strictly limited "Evaluation & Test CD" which has been produced exclusively for Audison by the famous US company TELARC.

Under 700 of these will ever be available in Australia and currently only 25 pieces are available which were bought back from the CES 08.

The 14 tracks of audio excellence include comprehensive listening notes to assist everyone from the novice to experts tune their system, an additional 5 tracks cover specific test and tune test tracks.

The album is a real mix covering, Blues, Jazz, Trance and Classical (A word of caution, track 14 is the abridged version of Telarc's legendary all time classic 1812 Overture which uses live canons.)

It's now online here: http://www.audiodiscs.com.au/shop.php/comp...vol-1/p_41.html

I will echo Phil's comments that stock is extremely limited, and most likely won't be available once this batch is sold.

Marc
The first orders of these discs have shipped today.
Looking forward to some feedback on these discs.

There's only about 6 left, and ordering another batch is not a very high possibility, so if you do intend on getting one better get your order in. smile.gif

I have the the original 1979 copy of Telarc's 1812 Overture on vinyl.

The groove in the vinyl of the canons firing is so severe it almost looks like a square wave trace .... takes a damn good cartridge to track it properly!

Tried to order one, but I can't seem to add it to the cart. If you could please contact me via pm that would be great.

Cheers,

I tried ordering it aswell. It said it was in my basket, when I went to "VIEW BASKET" I was advised no items to show.

So I can only assume it has sold out?

Oh wellz, next time Gadget, next time.

Louie
I know when I ordered mine last night around 9pm, there were 3 left (including the one I ordered), so I'd imagine they would be all gone by now unfortunately.
RMA
The last set of 10 disc's was sent to Marc today, so should be back on line soon.

The last batch that will be heading down-under should be shipped in the next few weeks after that there will be no more of this disc I am sorry.
Marc
I've updated the stock count. There are now officially 9 left and that is it for now.

can you give us a decent review Sierra? which tracks might be useful for tuning and which bits worth listening for if the system is up to it?

I mean, you are a pro now...

I'd say the whole disc really could be used to show up flaws in your system. The cd booklet has some pretty detailed outlines of each track and what you should hear and where it should be from.

I haven't listened to mine, I'm going to put it in the car though on my ~2 hour car trip, where I'll be alone on the highway, it's the first time I'll have a chance to throw it in for a listen. Sure I'm no pro, but hopefully it's an enjoyable cd

Track 1 seems to distort on the midbass hits in the right channel. The old version of this track (circa 1980's) is superior and not over-driven.
Track 2 the womans voice is clean and spacious, no image movement with varying notes. Same with the Bass, fingering is clear and just left of centre.
Track 3 Female vocals is deep in the sound stage, yet intimately mic'ed - some short echo like an empty room but no real reverberation.
Track 4 the singer is quite close, the organ is a fair way behind him. guitar strumming in the left channel should be clear and strums matching the notes - i.e. tweeter should blend properly with the mids.

Thats all for now
Marc
I think there's 4 left .. and that's it.

I better put my one aside and be careful I don't accidently sell it!

I will pass your concerns on to TELARC.

Have you done a back to back test?
philz
