Hey mate, i have the 6110 Navigator, altho my phone is unlocked, my plan is with Three. I dont get charged for it, but I have heard that Telstra does charge to use it, dont hold me to this, have just been told this by someone else.
When you buy the phone you should get the CD with the maps on it, although if you plan to travel it will cost you money to download new maps.
Hope this helps

From what I know the GPS system on the 6110 is much better than the N95.
2 Megapixel camera, although not top of the range is very decent.
VGA camera on the front for video calls
Sounds ok playing mp3s
can take a 2gig memory card
nice big display
yeh, its a fairly nice overall phone, just a bit dodgy when you are trying to drive and look at the gps at the same time

altho u can use bluetooth audio to have the directions come through your speakers (if you have bt)

there are 2 versions of GPS on the phones, there is the regular GPS and here is AGPS, AGPS(Assisted Global Positoning System) is the one you pay for as the way it works is it send out a small package of data to the network to triangulate your position more quickly, therefore you are paying for the data transfer, just like you were on the net with your phone. the regular GPS is free to use however takes a little longer to get your position, have heard it taking up to 5mins, so usually best to activate it before you leave.
N.B. I do not own a 6110 Navigator or the likes, but did a bit of research into these phones as I was considering upgrading to one. But I decided to wait a couple of months to see if anything better comes out

cheers for the help guys.
i still cant decide what fone to buy. ive been looking at caps with '3' and that. the problem is that i only wanna spend like 29 a month...which is wat i spend now, except the fones out there are almost worse than the fone i have now....i dont see the point in getting something thats worse.....seems pointless the cheapest out there is like 29+5 a month for handset for the nokia N73...and it really doesnt look that good. or the nokia 6500 for 29+10 for the handset a month.....i would prefer something with GPS but it all seems too expensive for something that i wouldnt use as often as it should be.
If anyone has any opinions of the N73 or the nokida 6500 slide. it would be greatly appreciated....lol it always seems when my fone contract comes up the fones out at the time are crap lol. gets harder and harder every 2 years

I have a 6100 with optus on a $49 cap (with $300 worth of credit)
You are not charged for the GPS with the 6100 on optus as long as you have the "connected to satelites with assistance" turned off. If it is turned on, it costs like 2cents to connect via the networks. Without it just means that you have to wait longer for your location to be found. But thats ok. The GPS isn't flash bang, wizz fantastic. If you really want GPS buy a decent tom-tom or something. But the 6100 GPS will get you out of trouble when you need it to and also help and those trips finding your way.

hey guys another stupid question from a retard. i wanted to try out mobile TV on my 3 fone. so i signed up for MTV for 1 dollar for just the day just to test it out...but im getting 30mins of the same thing and it just gets repeated.
i was just curious if thats all u get for the dollar. and if u pay 4 dollars for the month do you get like proper screening or just the repeated stuff again?
if neone knows id really appreciate it. i know some channels are live and stuff...but im not sure if for one dollar u just get like a 'teaser' of the channel. k thanks
