Has anyone had this combination installed before?

I have a Toyota Corolla Levin that apparently this 700VR connects to the factory alarm, so that I don't have to carry another transponder on my keychain.

It is really difficult to find any information on the 700VR, I am assuming because of security this is why Google doesn't show up any results.

Also the place I am dealing with recommends a "gismo" which you get a sim card and put it in, the unit will SMS you when the alarm is tripped and you can remote stop the vehicle, etc, without any ongoing fees except for the SIM card.

I have to agree with other people who have said that sirens, lights, etc aren't the way to go anymore, and getting silent pager systems are the better way to go now.

I haven't been into car audio, etc for over 10 years now and starting to get back into it. Technology has certaintly changed over that time period!

I use a similar combo in my corolla. I have a high end alarm and a vehicle tracking set up. In my case the 2 systems are independent, apart from alarm trigger, triggering tracking system. My car is a bit olderso isntr intergrated with a factory alarm.

The combo gives you best possible protection with out resotring to a fully monitored set up and its on going expense.
Im guessing the gismo is same as mine and is a rojone unit.

anyway I have had this set up for a few years and thankfully never needed to use tracking system, but it does help me sleep better, and not fret when Im working, or any other time Im not a few feet from my car

I just had a meeting this week regarding this Gismo unit, which I was not familiar with. It's a fantastic product that really hasn't had much of a push as yet or received much exposure.

In terms of the 700VR I can't offer much insight, other than that I have tried many different brands of alarms in my cars and I can honestly say that I've had a Viper in my BMW now for over 5 years and it hasn't faulted on me once. I had a Code Alarm previously and I was replacing the remotes almost 6 monthly! It was damn annoying and damn costly!

The only annoyance I have experienced is because I don't drive the BMW very often these days the battery keeps going flat and the alarm then goes into Valet mode each time I jump start the car. I can never remember how to get it out of valet! LOL

know of a 350z that has this setup. this fellow was blabbing about how he could unlock and disarm the alarm from his phone. I didnt believe him until he called the car and it chirped and unlocked.
thought is was quite neat.
