I'd change the CPU to an 8200, 8400 or even an 8500 why get an old chip smile.gif

Also I'd change the GPU to a 8800GT which is only a tad more $50 but alot more gain! Or wait for the new series of GPU's

Rest of the system is pretty much the same as I'd get
Louie
Have a look at this thread. Has some pretty solid systems for varying prices. Obviously you could alter a bit with the gear, but overall it offers some solid overall equipment.

As for selling second hand, ebay or even on here would probably be the places to look at selling, though if it isn't powerful you probably won't get much cash for it. Might be worth just straight out formatting and using it as a mobile jukebox or something

Buying 2 video cards is not really saving you money now is it? tongue.gif

The P35-DS3P can be picked up for $165 from MSY

The cases you are looking at are nice and bling .... a cheaper case will save you $50 compared to the NZXT and even more compared to the Antec.

Depends how serious you are at saving money and going with pure functionality over looks smile.gif

As Louie has mentioned .... have a look at Enzo's thread for configuration choices.

I'm still saving for some of my parts wink.gif

MSY is a chain of computer stores Australia wide with very competitive pricing.

MSY = Good Prices but a horrible web site !
With MSY ring first to check they have it in stock and then get them to hold it for you

Centrecom is also priced well e.g. P35 DS3p is $163 see here Centrecom

Or try Computer Parts Land see CPL

Also what is the delivery charge from shopping square for all of that gear, I would guess at least $60 - $70 ?

Yeah is about 50 bucks for all that but im not buying it all from there as there is some cheaper places so just checking out prices first

I also looked at those places and i agree about msy way too messy to look at so i gave up.

Question time
I was looking at graphics cards and i found XpertVision GF 8600GT PCI-E 512MB graphics card
http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/produc...b407361b156cd31
now this graphics card as you can see is alot cheaper but i was wondering as im a noob to this am i cheapening the quality as well.

Do i have to buy two graphics cards to be able to set two screens up?

Is quad core better then duo core even when the GHz are lower eg dual core 3.00ghz to a quad core 2.00ghz explain please?

cheers
mozz
No you dont need 2 graphics card to run 2 screens, we run 4 head and 2 head graphics cards at work to run up to 6 lcds from the one PC. The cards come with lead adapters that connect from the graphics card to the normal DVI connectors. The cost of these type of cards can be quite dear and do not necessarily have fantastic frame rates for games. This may help you Dual Monitors

I always find Toms Hardware good for CPU comparisons, as they use the same two motherboard set up for the Intel and AMD chips on the same tasks so that you can see the performance difference easily, see here CPU Charts and some Graphics card help Graphics Cards
