WOW.. what a day to kick off the 2008 season of MEASQ!!!!!

Thanks to Sam, Brett, Joe @ Phatt for holding the first comp of the year.. always supporting MEA, MEASQ & its members.. good to see..

Thanks to Marc for running the comp once again, and the judges for dedicating their time to judge, enjoy, and comment..
And.. allow time for discussion afterwards! wink.gif

Thanks to the ladies for adding up all the totals, and co-ordinating the winners..

Thanks to the competitors for making the comp what it is.. its you (and me) that make the comp just as much as the people running it..
And congrats to all the winners also.. *pats self on back*

Some nice cars out on show, and many pics were taken.. not sure how many out of the 180 i took will get uploaded but i'll see..

ok.. all the thanks are done.. so my personal review..
was a good day, altho a long one.. i awoke at 7:20 with a mad panic idea, then a 2 hour session cleaning the car for the comp (hadn't had a proper wash in months!).. relaxed, packed the car and hit the road.. was a nice leasurely cruise to Braeside, getting there early.. which gave me plenty of set up time, once i knew what was happening..

set up show, as alan showed above, and set out to take lots of piccies, give demo's and tours, and enjoy myself!! and all that i did.. haha
had a great day, mingled with members/competitors/judges and gave/received advice/tips as per usual..
finally left ~9pm.. was buggered, but thoroughly enjoyed the day..

sorting thru/uploading pics now, so they'll be online soon!!

Bring on Round 2 in ~6 weeks time..
i've got little work to do, and a few tricks up my sleeve... wink.gif

OK.. pics have been uploaded....

As always - thanks to the judges, admin and event hosts ("the Phatt boyz").

It was a great start to the season, nice weather, good turnout, good food, good people! It was nice to have the Gemini competing again too. Got some good feedback and was stoked to have got the scores I did with a half completed install. It should all be done by next comp hopefully.

Bring round 2!

What a great day, other then being badly burnt... thanks to those who pointed out how "red" i looked!

Congrats to all the winners (and runner ups)
Justin's Gem looked brilliant as always, even without subs scoring very highly
The "Blue STi" was absolutely gorgeous, from the laser cut STi speaker grilles to the custom made amp and scanspeak 4ohm speakers biggrin.gif
Damo's "cruzer" with the OEM style install, better then ever before
Joe's "doolzgi" also looking very good
Willy's RX8, absolutely beautiful in every way, a true credit to PAC.

It was good to see plenty of other nice cars, doors open for everyone to see, especially the GTRs!

Oh and, at this rate i'll be back in the wrx next comp, the guy that was coming from syd to look at it never rocked up... So until I sell it, i'm forced to keep entering the rex with the JVC h/u (no time align or x-overs) and only boston coax's in the front tongue.gif

Fudd
^^ there was a novice street class, there was 3 cars entered, was very tight competition in there and i would like to see all the cars there again next time in intermediate street, i think they have what it takes to go well with them!
the cars sounded quite nice!

Congrats to Timmy too! good to see you back up there again! first comp in ages.
All the cars i judged in Expert street were very very nice!

im dissapointed i had to take off so early though, had to go to an engagment party and i missed out on the results sad.gif

hey this is my first post on here!
I came along on Saturday and entered the novice street class with my Burgandy VS Statesman, I went home just before the results as well but got a mate to pick up the sheet. I ended up with 105/135. I lost points for not having a fire extinguisher and bass being just a bit heavy.

Iv never entered a SQ comp before and didnt have it tuned before hand but was happy with the results smile.gif
Does anyone know what car/score won the novice street class?

p.s. Also thanks to Damo95 for taking a pic of my ride! ur show setup was neat
emdeem
I am very interested what sort of setups and gear the novice cars had.

As I may have a go at the next event I would like to know what I may be up against.
~Spyne~
gear doesnt matter, as long as u have it well set-up

for example, timmeh won his first comp - in intermediate street (though it was amateur street back then) - running audioline amps, jaycar sub, OLD clarion headunit and cheap cadence splits

come along in any case - even if u dont compete (though i highly recommend it) - its a great way to meet people and hear a whole range of gear (and see various installs)
invsbl
I also entered the Novice class on Saturday with my Blue VT Commodore. I am a long time fanatic but first time competitor and enjoyed the day greatly. The judges were very helpful and gave me plenty of quality feedback on my system with improvements i could make, and i have already started.
Only one issue was i had to leave early before the presentation of the winners and was unable to collect my score sheet. If anyone can help me and let me know what i scored this would greatly be appreciated.
Marc
Hi invsbl .... If it was you that emailed me regarding your score sheet, I did get it and forwarded it on to Ness. She just hasn't had a chance to scan it in so it can be sent to you.

She just said she should be able to get it to you by tomorrow night (late). Sorry for the delay smile.gif
