Lets just say if I "hypothetically" wanted multiple cctv cameras mounted throughout the car (3 or 4) what 12v "device" would i need to buy that has 4 inputs and one output that will scroll between the cameras, much the same as cctv controllers in shopping centres.
Also, is the a wireless type input selector that would allow me to change between cameras, dvd and ps2/3 at the touch of a button

Nope they dont. There are fancy dancy cctv ones for security systems but are upward of $500 and require a computer system and are 240v

It was suggested that I use a neon light controller, but instead of it running 12v to neon tubes, it supplies a 12v source to each of the reverse cameras so i can run sequences. As a result with the factory TV tuner /aux input adaptor it will always take priority over dvd/tv/gps and automatically show the cameras at the touch of a button (switching the neon light controller on)

Works in theory, i wonder if it works in practice!

you would be better of using a light chaser and a bunch of relays to switch the video of that
as all cams have a start up time

but its not a verry clean way to do it

I think the product you are looking for is discontinued now, but stock still exists in some Dick Smith stores.

From memory this requires 9v power to operate, and can scan between the channels with pre-set timings.

You can use a simple 7809 circuit to provide it power, I would recommend using the TO-220 size as the unit draws 200mA.

Hope that helps.

Neltronics, the distributors for NESA VISION in Australia have a device that will suit this application.

Contact them on 1800 633 930, Johno is the man to speak to and he will be able to direct you to a NESA retailer wink.gif

if you ASKED the people that work there, that would have been the main problem. haha, they're pretty much useless at knowing what they sell.
