How many Ks on the car ?
Magnas tend to be not to bad on CV joints, however, as always, it depends on how you drive the car.
Does the noise happen when you turn both left, and right ?
Might be worth taking the car down to Pedders and having the 21point check down, its under 30bux. But without seeing, or hearing you car, i cant really comment much more.

yeh its gettin worse, at real low speeds i basically cannot turn the stearin wheel with any sort of ease left or right, but at decent speeed (over bout 15-20) it turns fairly freely
oh and it just clicked over to 120K so in the next 2 weeks im gettin a 120K service done, fair major one cause i think he skipped the 100K service

Sounds like it has something to do with the power steering.
Have you jacked the car up, taken the wheel of and had a look to see if you can see anything that is obviously bent or broken?

Skipped the 100k service

I do hope he changed the rear spark plugs, and more importantly the timing belt, because thats due at 100k on the TJs. Timing belt snap, pretty much = new motor.
From the extra info you have given, I also think it has more to do with the power steering.

im thightning my powersteerin belt today, and if that isnt it i dare say the power steerin pump will be gone

Do you have any fluid in there. That would be the first port of call. We had a mechanic at the dealer once change it with engine oil and got the same sort of things your speaking of

LOL reverse burnouts.. and you wonder why its clicky ? Here's a tip guys, Magna's are NOTORIOUS for blowing out CV's and gearboxes, not "good" on them. Nanna's blow them out, and he's thrashed this one.
ProTip: You've fried out your CV's and prolly the cogbox. Enjoy you expensive repairs.
Yours Sincerely,
A former Magna owner

Carefull when you say that but. The autos are known to have some issues when not treated right. The manuals are much better.

Yes I'll be careful about what I say about Mitsubishi Australia. Their cars are amungst the most reliable on Australian roads and this is why Mitsu Oz werent involved in a scandal about not honoring warranty claims, destroying their records and are a major player against Holden, Ford, Toyota and Hyundai.
Oh wait.. they were, they did and they're closing down now ?

I can name more cars made by Mitsi Australia that are more reliable than any Holden or Ford ever built. Do we forget holdens LS1 issues. They source a motor from the States, drop it in there cars, and create a lemon.
How about fords diff and gearbox issues in their cars. Aswell as the but ugly AU falcon.
Why is Mitsi closing down in Australia. one reason and one reason only. The only car they make just isnt making them money anymore. The only car made in Aus by Mitsi is the 380. But, oh wait, all large cars are selling less in Australia.
hmmmm, thinking times.
if whe going in a straight line there is no noise and when you turn, particularly near full lock you get the "click click click" sound and feel it is your CV joints. it might just need re greasing and new boots but from what you say they sound like they are stuffed
