CRESCENDO loudspeakers are developed with quite a number of design factors and considerations in mind. Loudspeakers for use in vehicles are usually installed at a distance of only 60-100 cms from the listener, a "near-field" speaker. Emphasis has been placed on "off-axis" response, as opposed to "on-axis" response found in HiFi applications. The listening room in a vehicle is small, so subwoofers need to be designed with consideration of "transfer function" or "cabin gain" that boosts low frequencies. Finally, car audio applications require consideration of the elements such as sunlight, humidity and moisture. CRESCENDO designs cater for all the considerations and deliver!

The Speaker Lineup:

Crescendo Opus 3 (RRP 315/set): High End speakers for entry level user. This is suitable for user who wants to enter high end but budget is the major hold back
Crescendo Opus 5 (RRP 421/set): Suitable for user who wants to experience high end sound with minimum budget
Crescendo Opus 8.6 (RRP 539/set): Suitable for high end fanatics who aim for uncompromised 2 way system.
Crescendo Diffuser (RRP 32/pc): Its main function is to diffuse back wave of speakers thus improving sound quality. This is a cheap and easy way to upgrade sound quality.

Etude 2 and Etude 3 are Subwoofers that made for Sound Quality. CRESCENDO tried to compromise all possible boxing solution and hence All Etude 2 and Etude 3 can be installed in sealed, ported or free air enclosure designs. The main difference between Etude 2 and Etude 3 is power handling. Etude 2 has lesser power handling compared to Etude 3 hence less attack. All Etude 2 and Etude 3 are DVC and 4 ohms impedance.

I was at Audioart & Technologies the other day and Yanddy insisted on showing me a set of Opus 8's
they do look sweet, im in two minds whether to invest in a set of these or go for the Hertz MLK165's to replace my type X front stage.

Did you have a listen to the speakers while you were there? I beleive Audio Art has both Opus 5 and Opus 8.6 on their demo board, so you can easily compare between the difference between them and compare them to the Hertz.

Yeah, Crescendo is a very nice speaker especially for sound quality. At the moment I still used the Opus 3 in my Charade and I have third place once in 2007 season. I love this speaker very much...

I sent an email regarding these speakers have ya got any more info on them like specs, I'm thinking of heading to A&T to have a listen. I know everyones different but how do you think they compare to 165 K2P and other speakers in there price range.

Just out of curiosity...are there any dimensions on the mids (MB-6)? Other than 'big' ?

I had a listen to Adhika's car at the recent test&tune day, and I must say that these speakers have great accuracy and clarity.
Their low price does not convey the high quality of the sound.
