Spend a little more and get a blower?
Otherwise there's the standard intake/exhaust if you havent done it already...

Brian..
think think the ute would have a Cold Air INtake (CAI) setup already from standard, so most would just change the filter to a K&N..
basicaly.. get a set of extractors and a 2.5" exhaust..
Maybe also look into getting a cam/chip upgrade..
any more than that, and you're looking at bolt ons which is when the $$ start climbing!

CAI if it doesn't have one already. Exhaust, Extractors, Better rockers.

^^^ Exactly
Get some Yella Terra 1.9 ultra light rockers installedl+ Tuned, along with some Pacemaker extractors mated with a 2.5" exhaust system and a K&N oiled panel filter. Also look into a diff ratio change.
These are about the best bang for buck mods. After these u start looking into Forced induction and cam upgrades which costs big $$$

get a after market computer. The best bux u will spend around 2-3g . Then get it tuned . and u will be looking at a 10-15kw gain at the wheels if tuned right. Also there is nitrous thats around $600 these days. Ive seen a completly stock vn-v6 on nos push out 195kw atw. but then came back in a week with a fried piston as he held the button too long nob head . Get that and the computer thats more than 200kw atw thats a high 13 low 14 down the quats thats how i would spend the cash

Its not going to be like nos or anything, But it will make a difference. And they are not that expensive either.

the intake mods are pretty common aswell as extractors + exhaust
and i think snail has chosen the right user name.....$3k for 10-15 kw? i think there would be alot you could do with 3 grand before you went near the computer

Why not spend 5K and get a supercharger and gain alot more than 10-15Kw. Nah like RUN4IT and i suggested do the usual mods first,
Cold air intake, Exhaust and extractors, Better Rockers, Possibly Diff gears, Shift kit. ECU Edit
There is heaps you can do.

I would look at a nos setup, cheap and easy
just take it easy on the stock motor

Me and my father Built a 465KW at the wheels clubsport, I no how to get power. Yes a computer would be good but not vital just yet. And about the blower i didnt expect him to spend 5K on one i was just throwing that option out there. There is plenty of things you can do for cheaper that will add power.

and so ur point is
im saying be prepared first make ur engine run safe first yes u can get bigger cam or heads or change the diff ratio but do a computer then it will run safe in the fuel ratio not lean nor rich just nice. better fuel economical and emition
good for the envioment
thanks

I see your point but i think he was referring to cheapish mods. And my comment about the charger was just a joke, I didn't expect him to do it lol

...you can get an eaton M90 supercharger for $1000 or less.
with a budget of $3000 I can see that covering a full exhaust, supercharger, and everything needed to mount it.
do as much work yourself as you can, stretch the budget a tad.
not sure how much boost the stock engine would actually take though.

oooh neons yes and then an exhaust flame thrower and then spinning rims and then a disco ball yay thats my new found plan!!!
THANKS ADAM!!! i like your way of thinking!!!
anyways capa does a 9 pound supercharger for 5 grand with computer upgrade (i think either that or re maped) that they say is fine with stock ecotech egine but i thing if i was gonna charge it i would re build the engine and put a vortech 6 to 19 pound adj boost charger for 7 grand but im looking to start small as im trying to save for a house so heres my plan...
1: exaust extractors and a hi flo cat $1000ish
2: cold air induction k&n air filter $????
3: engine rebuild new cam all that crap $3500 at a guess
4: charger $7200
did i miss anything feel free to alter my plan oh and nos is a little to fast and the furious for me as with the neons
thanks for all your imput guys

CAI is cheap as man, Like $80, Dont bother getting an SS inductions one either they are proven to actually lose power. And dont bother with a K&N. SC did a back to back test with a standard element against a K&N and the airflow was exactly the same.
