I just had a read through the site here and it got me wondering what potential there was for it to be adopted by carPC builders.

I would like to know if there is anything that has already been done using the Eee pc?

i dont think there would be much software for it is there? it runs it's own OS i thought?

personaly i would rather go with a mini mac..

it can run windows or linux but its not really that cheap, rather low specs too

your best option is to ether get a pc coustom made or make it your self buying the components... and put em in a Micro or mini ATX case... but i've seen ppl with fulltower in the Car...

My eee pc is coming today or tomorrow.

And i'm already working on it as an multipurpose audio station.

It runs linux but XP is able to run on it very well.

I'll keep you all updated as i go along but the current plans are

evolution 1 (for car use):

eee pc -> behringer uca-202 -> optical -> h701

evolution 2 (office use)
eee pc -> out board dac -> headphone amps -> B&O A8

evolution 3 (home use)

music/ movie streaming from main pc -> eee pc -> outboard dac -> home amps -> tv + speakers

If you spend 5 minutes looking through google you will find that there are already a heap of hacks (software and hardware) out there for it, inculding GPS. I just want to see a dedicated CarPC system, although sound quality could be an issue...?

Negatron, show us Pics!
