So whats brands are renouned for their good 4" split? I want to get a pair on the kick panel to compliment my Boston S60 front and rear. I know matching speakers are like matching fine wine with food, so I just need you guys to point me into right direction. My local audio place doesn';t have 4" splits, I wouldn't know where to start. I have a $200-300 MAX budget in mind.

At that price level, there isn't anything I would recommend as excellent.
But for a little more, the Focal 100V2 @ RRP $369, or Morel Dotech MkII 4 @ RRP $400

I haven't heard, but also available:
DLS PS4 @ RRP $279

if you can get away with 5", then there's about 10x the number of products available.

as for matching with existing speakers, I would recommend not.
I'm not saying it won't work, it might work fine, but the likely outcome is not as good as a complete new set of 6" splits.

i have focal 100kp and they are nice if you got a mid bass

I have a similar question so rather than start a new thread ill just borrow this one smile.gif

I was looking at Focal 100v2 as a 4" split set to go with my elate9 midbasses. Would the 4s play low enough? Ive got (very) roughly 1-2litres for each midrange.

Would the 5s play high enough?

Not sure sad.gif

Cheers

Thanks for the feed back guys, any sydney siders want to direct me to where I can find focal, morel products ?? My local store is Lifestyle, but they don't have 4" splits.

The 4" should be fine down to 250Hz, the 8's will go that high easy.

Fhrx Studios in Sydney have a lot of stock.
