Hi, i've just purchase a Mongoose M20S alarm to replace my old/faulty alarm system. I'm trying to install the new alarm (M20S) but need some help with the wiring. One of the wiring plug/loom say to connect the wires to "lock common", "unlock common", "lock n/c", "unlock n/c", "lock n/o" and "unlock n/o". Where do i connect this wire to or i dont have to use that plug as its for upgrade. Another wire that i need help is the "ground when armed output (-)" is this just another ground wire and need to be connected or its just additional wire for upgrades? By the way car is a Honda Accord.
Thanks,
John

Slow down Jono. No insult meant but you seem way out of your depth with this. The wires you are asking about are central locking wires. Do not ground the - out when armed its a trigger output for an accessory.
Take it a qualified installer mate for them it will be a breeze.

No harm done mate. I've already connect the other wires with reference to the car wiring chart so i dont know if a pro will come out and fix the 5 wires that i ask about.
Anyone who had install this Mongoose M20S alarm before please help.
Thanks,
John

Have you begin the installation yet? or its still in the box just and your reading the install booklet. I've wired everything else but havent connect the battery back. All i want to know if leave that plug and the unit is working.

my memory is quite rusty as i havn't put in an alarm for a while as i changed jobs and no longer an installer but i think the unlock and lock wires are for central locking which can be hooked up differently depending on the car. don't quote me on that though! it's been a while...
can anyone else help out?
Cheers, Grant

Ground when armed means that wire will become neg when the alarm is on. This is used to activate window wind up, mircowave sensors, shock sensors or tilt sensors if you want to add them on. You can just leave this wire and the alarm will work fine.
"lock common", "unlock common", "lock n/c", "unlock n/c", "lock n/o" and "unlock n/o" are all central lock wires. If you dont have central locking then leave these wires and the alarm will still work.
There a different ways to connect up central locking depending on your cars setup. If your not sure just leave it, or ask an installer to hook it up for you coz they know exactly what they are doing.

The lock no is the positive signal wire. Lock n/c is the earth wire. Lock common is the signal cable that tells the motors to lock or unlock. Wire it up like this
Just without the mess lol hope you can understand it cbf doing it perfect

this is not always true.. the n/o, n/c and common are central wires as people have said, it is just 2 relays built into the module.. how to wire up the relay are different for different cars, this wiring diagram you desribed will only work if the central is aftermarket or if the stock motors are reversing polarity you hvae to find out how the stock motors work before you can wire up this relay.. as most people have said you'd be better off taking it to a pro to finish the install..
