ok last time a posted here it was for a new speaker setup.... but i scrapped that idea and bought some new power, in the form of 3 new amps!!! old orion gear of course.... so i now have 7 amps to play with in regards to my new setup
listed below are the amps and a pic of the new 1s
Kicker IX404: 4x40 or 2x160rms bridged
Alpine F240: 4x40 or 2x100rms bridged
Alpine F545:4x125rms or 1x125 plus 1x500rms bridged
Alpine T1505: 2x225 or 1x900rms bridged
Orion 250sx: 2x50 or 1x200rms bridged
Orion 2150sx: 2x150 or 1x600rms bridged
Orion 2250sx: 2x250 or 1x1000rms bridged
mind you i dont know what true power output the orions put out but i do know they have unregulated power supplies and only the 2250 has fuses, and they appear to be 60amp agu fuses so if anyone know please feel free to let me know.
Anyhow the gear in my setup is 165 k3ps and dva7996 with a h701 run optically and an idmax 12d2v3 and the speakers are active atm

i havnt even had them a week, let alone play with them, all ive done is upgrade the power cable from 8gauge to 4gauge straight to the circuit board on the 2150. not yet so no

I miss them Andrew... I'm glad they went to someone who'll look after them though

4-gauge on the 2150SX looks the goods.
How much gain did you use with the ID previously? I'd be running as much power to the front stage as possible, from all reports the Focals seem to like power behind them. If you can keep up with sub duties and 500WRMS, that would leave the front stage fairly open to excessive power

the 1505 was running the idmax and the gain hadnt even made the halfway mark

Its pretty clear what you should do and im pretty sure you will be thinking along these lines anyway.
Orion amps for front stage fully active and leave the ID on the alpine 1505.
Orion 250sx: 2x50 for the tweeters
Orion 2150sx: 2x150 for the mids
Orion 2250sx: 2x250 for the woofers
Set the gains safely and your laughing.

Keep the ORION amps they are an excellent SQ amp !
The alpines would make nice boat anchors.
