Hey all, I am going to run a 2gauge power cable from the battery to a distribution block (via a fuse) then split the cable to 2 4gauge cables so they can run to 2 amps. I have been told to keep the ground cable the same size as the power cable so does that mean that it needs to be a 4gauge ground coming from both amps?

*EDIT
Sorry this has nothing to do with SQ i thought i was in the beginner section. This can be moved if necessary.

That should be fine. Ground with the highest cables you have, if you have enough spare left over.

Why not just ground to the chassis of the car?

Using a larger ground cable will be fine though.

i will ground the amps to the chasis, only the power cable will run from the battery to the boot. just need to know the cable size to use. thanks for the replies.

Ah my mistake, I thought you were running the 2 gauge then splitting it as the ground. 4 gauge grounding should be fine.

as long as each amp's ground is the same or bigger than the power, you will be fine.

also, it's better to ground all the amps close to the same point if you can, and make sure it's a *very* good connection to the car, and away from things like fuel pumps and whatnot.
