Man that sux.... It's hard enough to fix something that's broke, let alone something that's been stuffed around with already...
The pro M2 tweets (from the ambient set) that Alex mentioned may be the way to go, however you are paying a fair whack of money for em new..
The main difference from the M2 to the M1 is the AMD on top of the tweeter, which is slightly smaller on the M2s, plus the Z6 tweeter is anodised, which (as far as I can gather) gives it a slightly more rigid quality, and may sound slightly different to the M2. The biggest difference from the high freqs in the pros to the high freqs in the Z6's lies in the crossover network.
it would be very hard (if at all possible) to distinguish the difference between a set of Z6s with M2's or a set of Z6's with M1's if you used the Z6 crossovers, because of the crossover network on the Z6's being soooo much better than the pros.
I would recommend scouring some American forums as well. There is usually somebody selling bits n pieces of Z6 sets from time to time...
As the M1 tweeter is indeed a 6 ohm tweeter, it'll be hard to find an alternate that can work with the crossovers, but I think you were gonna run them active? In this case, I'd recommend you sell off the other Z6 tweeter (someone's bound to want one

) and get a set of Focal's TN52 tweeter's, and run them from 2.5K Ohms up at 24dB (the approximate
secret crossover point of the Z6's).
The actual crossover point for the tweets on the Z6 crossover is tapered slightly due to the properties of the linkz-riley filter so the crossover point is a little bit more complicated than a simple 24dB slope, and it gives it a phase shift relationship to the mids that creates a smooth transition to the higher freqs (according to the marketing and research dept

)... It's actually quite hard to find out specs on the crossovers I guess because Boston believes most ppl are stupid and don't need to know that kinda stuff!!!, so I did a bit of testing and found out for myself what the slope settings were.
Just for future reference (and a start point on active settings) The Z6 woofer's (using the Z6 crossover) are run low passed to 2.3K (-3dB point) with a 24dB octave (butterworth) on the Z6 crossover....
I love Z6's ... can you tell?
