Hey guys,
on the weekend i was finially gettin round to installin my processor(DCU105) up with my HU (AVX5000).
now i hooked up what i thought to be the relevent wires ( power for the processor and the lan cable from the HU to the processor and connected the rca's to the amps)
after i did that i noticed that i was not gettin any sound from any of the speakers.
i then had a play and connected the 'digital out' from the HU to the processor and got some sound, and this is where i am at...
i am gettin sound from dvd's and cd's and not from mp3's or the radio.

now i havent connected the other wires as i throught they have no relivence to this issue (the wires i have not connected are - video out and left and Right out from HU to Processor, dvd and nav mute from processor to HU.

has any one had this problem before??? or know how to fix it??

EDIT.....
Wires I have / have not connected to the HU
B+ (Yellow) - Connected
Ground (Black)- Connected
E-LAN terminal - Connected
Line-out terminal (Front, rear and sub) - Connected
Digital input terminal - Connected

DVD MUTE wire (Pink) - Not connected
NAVI MUTE wire (Brown) - Not connected
Front and Rear speaker output leads - Not connected as using amps
VTR input terminals CH1 & 2 - Not used therefore not connected
VTR output terminals (CH1 & 2) - Not used therefore not connected
Video input terminal - Not used therefore not connected
NAVI-VOICE input terminal - Not used therefore not connected
Video output terminal - Not used therefore not connected
RCA digital input terminal (DIGITAL 1 ) - Not used therefore not connected
Optical digital input terminal (DIGITAL 2 ) - Not used therefore not connected

I know I am getting reception to the radio as the 'ST' display text for when a station is selected is on and not flashing as it would if it had bad or no reception

Cheers

Read the manual, surely it will tell you want needs connecting and what does not

I'm not 100% sure about the Eclipse, but I know the digital transport stream in Alpine deck+processor combo's only transports native digital bitstreams.

This means that if the signal isnt digital to begin with, its carried via the analog signal path (Alpine via their AiNet). CD's and DVD's obviously have digital bitstream. Radio and MP3's dont.

To fix this, simply connect the analog signal path as well. Again, this was for Alpine, dont know about Eclipse, but it seems logical.

that does make sence. but i cant find and 'analog' signal from the processor

i gave grant a call at alberts morley and he was unable to help me at hand but told me to shoot him off and email and he would forward it off to eclipse to get an answer.

analog=rcas or something similar. in the alpine setups ainet is analogue also

All fixed now... turns out that the VTR rca's needed to be hooked up.

thanks to the above post for the advice and prompted me to check it out

cheers
