Has anyone heard an idmax and boston g5 back to back? assuming the same size subs?

I currently own a idmax10, and have owned a boston 12.5lf pro, but have never heard a G5 sub...

the main reason im looking at changing to a G5, is because the rest of the system is Boston

but if the idmax is leagues ahead of the G5, I wont bother, as im quite happy with the bass output and quality of it

I quite like the G5, and in the right box, prefer it over the IDMax. However, you'll definitely need to listen to both yourself before you judge. They do sound quite different.

Louder -> IDMax

Faster Transients -> G5

IMO of course

I had this decision to make a few years back... I couldn't audition either before purchasing, so I relied on the feedback from the members here. In the end I ended up with IDMax12's and couldn't be happier

i run a g5, as do several other vic competitors and we are all very happy with them.
i heard the idmax in shiny's car, and personally like the g5 better

yeah, I have not heard the G5, but im quite set on it

Also what do people think of the passive radiators?


also, if anyone has a Dual 4 ohm G5 sub come up for sale, Id be quite interested, as im looking at some on ebay, and would rather get one from aussie depending the price...
Nz seems to be very very expensive for Boston Gear, the Z6's still retail for $2299... and there is no SPZ6's on display at All...

I haven't tried the IDMax or the passive radiators but I just recently got a G5 myself and compared to Stooge's Boston Pro it is leagues ahead in output and plays lower IMO.

Ive got two g5 and all i can say is you wont be dissapionted if thats the way you decide to go beautiful sub cant tell you how it compares to idmax but i had a rf p3 12 before the g5 and i must say i like the boston sub a lot more . I have never heard a car with gtr for g5 so cant comment .
