The Audison BIT ONE was previewed in Vegas 08, it is a Rockford 360, JL Clean Sweep and so much more, we now have some limited information available.
Whilst the factory has not made any official release of information some details are surfacing via the press in the form of pre release information.
There is very much likely to be three models of different specification which will range in price some where from sub $700 to around $1,500 AUD (Prices are not confirmed as yet)
If you follow the link below you will be able to see what will undoubtedly be one of the hottest selling items this year when it becomes available. (People have already placed orders for these and they are at least 3 to 6 months off being available from the factory!)

looks very impressive, will be keen to see what the specs are for the entry model, if it still retains
8 rca inputs
8 speaker level inputs
31-band graphical eq, per channel
full time alignment, per channel
6/12/18/24dB HP/LP/BP X-Over, per channel
it could be a real mover, considering it is getting increasingly hard (and pricey) to fit aftermarket headunits to new vehicles
is there a ball-park time (month) for release, phil?

and it may very well beat the JBL MS-8 to market too.
Not that that would be hard...

with going SQ this year I might as well get one of these when they get here to try out
I can confirm that the unit will be around the $700 - $800 AUD mark
There will be only one unit at this stage NOT three as a media source reported, although an entry level may eventuate down the track.
The unit will not be using microphones for EQ but will employ a system like the clean sweep.
Specs and exact prices will be released after Sinsheim Auto Show later this month.

I was sick of waiting for an answer, so i just bought an RF 3sixty.2
The price of BIT ONE has now been set in concrete $900 (As concrete as the dollar stays)
It is a little higher than we expected, however there have been major cost increases in everything from raw materials to man power to international freight charges.
September is still the expected release date in Australia (at this stage anyway) and we hope that a DHL envelope on its way to our office will contain further information.
For those that can't wait and want to buy another product, we respect your choice and wish you happy tunes.
RMA is attempting to get this product in as quickly as possible and to be honnest at this point there is nothing more we can do to speed things along.

I reckon it will cost about $1000 due to the dollar sliding at a rapid rate.
QUOTE (Surefire @ Oct 9 2008, 07:12 PM)

I reckon it will cost about $1000 due to the dollar sliding at a rapid rate.
When we first received preliminary pricing the Aussie dollar was at 0.94 USD
TONIGHT IT IS RUNNING AT AROUND 0.69 USD = 1 AUD
That is close enough to a 27% decrease in value !
This time last month it was around 0.85 USD = 1 AUD.
So in answer to the question, we will be holding back releasing an official updated price until we are closer to the product landing in the next few weeks with the hope that the dollar will have stabilized some what.
If we were to release it today you would be looking at around $1125 which is still less than the 27% increase in the ex factory buy price, you must also remember that freight charges are mostly billed in USD so there will also be a flow on effect there that could push prices up as much as 35% !
Our hope is the dollar will bounce back some what so we can offer it at around the $999 mark.

The Rockford is half the price ? How do you figure that?
Firstly - Last time I checked the 3Sixty.2 was $999 - I don't recall saying we would be $2000 at any stage. (Sorry we will not be offering anything at the 3Sixty.1 specification / price level. of $599)
Secondly - In case you have not heard the dollar has gone belly up to the USD to the tune of 27+% over the last 8 weeks.
This will have a major effect on the ex factory cost price and a secondary effect is that freight costs will rise as much of their charges are in USD.
So it is simple economics - a landed cost increase = a retail price increase
Believe me no one in this industry is going to drop 27+% of their margin and not bleed to death quite quickly.
So lets see, if the Rockford 3 Sixty 2 is on LifeStyle on special for $999 and the dollar has fallen in value by 27% I am guessing the 3Sixty.2 wont remain $999
PS Comparing the RF to the Bit One is not that easy, there are just one or two differences.

Depends if lifestyle already have it in stock and paid for when the dollar was up around 90. They can easily afford to out price you then. Doesnt really matter though as you aren't getting in any for retail sale yet are you?

There are two units currently in Australia being evaluated by industry members, unfortunately the factory will not permitted our releasing of the specifications at this moment as they will be making an official "PRESS RELEASE" hopefully this coming week or shortly after.

I believe that was because they received one of the two that were here for the reviewers. Though I could be wrong.
I'd be interested in the specs when it comes out, I don't plan on using it, but it'll be good to know how well it stacks up against a dedicated headunit in terms of features and functionality.

apples and oranges, louie.
I'd want to see it compared against other external processors such as the H701, cleansweep, 360.2 etc. Given that the JBL MS-8 is pretty much permanently on hold, this is probably going to be the best one on the market for some time.

We are pleased to confirm that the Bit One is on its way to Australia on a TNT Air consignment (just in time for Christmas).
Eta to Australia is early to mid next week, meaning stock should be available in stores by late next week or early the week after.

alot of us dont have 1200 bucks to throw around buddy... some people like to do reasearch and know what they're buying before they hand over their hard earned,
that said, from what i've read/heard it sounds like an impressive peice of kit... im still hanging for the jbl though, they cant get the interface side of things sorted from what i've heard, so i will continue to wait :/
