I guess my target here is Focal enthusiasts. I have just been informed that the Utopia 165W3s that I ordered are no longer available. I've been offered the 165K3P for $1100 though. Has anyone got a set of these? The main differences I can notice between the two sets are that the 165K3P has 6.5" Driver AND 6.5" Midrange. The 165w3s only have a 4" midrange. Is this good or bad? Another difference is that the 165w3s have the TN51 tweeters and the 165K3P have the TN52 tweeters. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two tweeters? Yet another difference between the two models is power handling, with the 165W3 and the 165K3P having 100wrms and 200wrms respectively. Then there's the price, the 165W3s (which I previously understood are a better speaker(s)) are slightly cheaper.

Can anyone cast some light on my situation?

Cheers,
Kaeser

I prefer the TN52 tweeter over that used on the Utopia, as the 'Tioxid' domes seem less harsh than the metal ones used on the Utopia set - though the Utpoias are due to be replaced soon so who knows...

Where are you going to fit a 6.5-inch midrange speaker anyway?

Thanks for the reply.

6.5" Driver on the floor, 6.5" Midrange in the doors, tweeter in the A-Pilar.

I own an EB Falcon.

well as an owner of 165k2ps, and also considering your upgrade, the main differences you would be looking at would be more midbass if needed from the k3ps, i was advised against upgrading tho by northfield, reckoned it would unbalane my system and i lose what i have????
