Hey all,
From a sound quality point of view would it degrade the sound to mount tweeters behind the stock cloth covers? would the cloth filter out some of the sound or will it have no effect?
Also where is a good place to mount them? Are they meant to be as far away from the listerner as possible? (is there a general rule to mounting?)
I am talking about the tweeters in the focal K2Ps for reference.
thanks in advance

If you get acoustically transparent cloth you should be right.

It has some effect - people often do it when the tweeters appear to sound a bit bright... Use blue-tac and position the tweeters at either end of the dash, near the midranges etc until you find a point that sounds best to you... That's where you can make an enclosure for them.

For the focal tweeters i would try the kicks and A-pillars. Where are you thinking of mounting them.
If they would be going in stock covers where are they firing and located?

yea it was gonna go behind the stock covers if there was no problems with mounting them there.
The stock covers are on each side of the dash and i was going to aim the tweeters at the opposite sides seat headrest and put the midrange in the doors. will there be any prob with mounting them like this?
