Need a amp thats put out over 2000wrms at 1 ohm. Powering a dual 2 ohm sub.
Some options i have found:
DD - Z1b
SPL Dynamics - D6 or D5
Hertz - HP1KD
Alpine - 2x PDX1.1000
With the DD and SPL Dynamics amps, because I dont like the look of them, I will hide them, the alpine and Hertz would be on show. I would prefer a showy amp, but not bling.
Anyone know of any other good looking amps that will cater to my needs?
regards
Antony

Could be cost prohibitive.
Maybe look at our M3, smaller footprint.

They have a 2200, 3000, 5000 and the monster 7000.
They look really cool but they're black

more tough looking than classy if that makes sense?

Try and find a Tru-Tech Sledge Hammer?
Failing that an Arc Audio SE4000? ( i think that's the model).
Both are insanely high quality (and sexy looking) monoblocks!

Dont know about the sledge looking sexy but the Arc is very nice but for that price I would go the Sinfoni desiderio.

Audison VRx1.500 could go with the Chrome Shadow model if you wanted, but unsure if it would match colour scheme with the other amplifier.

Thats because you solely wanted to use it for SPL
There is pretty close to nothing that can beat it for a daily IMO.
SStealth I think a z1b with the center piece plated gold would be classy - even more so than the whole amp gold. May not be tooooo exy?!

Zapco C2k 9.0X, 2200rms Bridged @ 2 and 4ohm or you can have 2 x 1100rms @ 1 ohm stereo it's about $3600 USD though, or if you wanted to be silly you could get it's big brother ala sledgehammer style it's two 9.0x stacked in the same case.

The Hertz HP1KD would be a good amp to consider, the unit delivers 3,200 RMS (CEA rated) @ 1 ohm, we have in tests run these at a much lower impedance, flat strap without a hickup or the temp raising past normal. If you strap two together you get 6,600 RMS @ 2 ohm.
If price is a problem the HP1D is less and delivers 2,300 RMS @ 1 ohm or 4,000 RMS @ 2 ohm when strapped.
Please remember manufacturers do not give warranty when any equipment is used outside the state opperating specifications.

Sorry guys, the only one that catches my eye and is enough power at 1 ohm is the hertz HP1KD, and Phil it will only be running one woofer rated at 2000wrms at 1ohm daily and in some comps, and if it fails you can bet i'll be claiming warranty.
However, I have seen some nice test reviews on the DD Z1 and Z1a and it is more than I need and I could hide it, though it would be hard because its huge compared to the sinfoni's ( I think I could fit all 4 sinfoni amps into the footprint of the Z1a). Similar, the SPL Dynamics D6 and Atomic 3000.1 could be hidden aswell as they are similar looking to the Z1a.
And that Sledgehammer is huge and rectangular and not nicely finished in my opinion so its a no no. And I dont think I could hide it under anything.
I guess i'll just keep looking until its time to buy incase something nice pops it head up.
Thanks for everyones input, greatly appreciated.

That's why I'd look at our M3. A lot smaller footprint and well over 2400Wrms for $1899.

if your still looking there are a few options in Hifonics that are over the 2k mark, if you need it at 2ohm you can run a XXV-THOR 2, which is 2300RMS @ 2 ohm, 3000RMS @ 1 ohm. ($2999)

I second the Hertz HP1KD. Got one running my '06 XXX 15 at 3200WRMS @ 1 ohm as a daily driver. Made 140.1dB on a TL, not in an SPL enclosure either. In my opinion, its one sexy amp too

The SPL Dynamics amps look much better in real life. Its like a shadow/polished/machined chrome effect, not just silver. Its hard to explain, but IMO the pictures on the website dont do them justice.

Depending on what your after, and the concept you want to go with you can try the new Brutus range, (this is a pretty bad picture) but they are shadow chrome with brushed aluminium, illuminated Hifonics logo and of blue LEDs that stream light across the amplifier, the Zeus range also has the complementing heat sink in a 4 channel
BXI 2008D (2000 RMS @ 1OHM) or for a little more room the BXI 2608D (2600 RMS @ 1 OHM) - there are only 4 of these in the country so it not something that you will see in every second Hyundai that drives past.
