Full Version: RF 3sixty decision for OEM install

I drive a car that has an OEM H/U and I want iPod connectivity. However, I don't wanna lose the h/u for the usual reasons (steering wheel controls, the look, etc).

So I'm thinking bout the RF 3sixty but have trouble deciding whether its a .1 or a .2
Budget obviously has a large role, but I was thinking of the following setup:

RF 3sixty.1 ~ $500
Eclipse EA4100 ~ $400
Sub: Anything thats good and relatively inexpensive. ~ $250

I have really good stock mids, splits and centre in my car so I won't change any of that.

The trouble I'm having is that I want the 3sixty.2 for the crossovers, however, from my knowledge, the EA4100 comes with crossovers as well, which is why I've chosen the 3sixty.1. Can anyone suggest a better alternative? (ie: simpler amp with the 3sixty.2)

I'm really lost and can't decide what to do to make the most out of what I'm gonna spend. What I'm most interested in is a good balance of sound with a nice and non-overpowering bass. Sound quality is the most important aspect.

Thanks!

If your amplifier has x-overs built in, as most do now days, the .2 may not be necessary. Of course the 3Sixty.2 will have a lot more adjustability - that is something to way up.

Another thing to keep in mind, you mention 4ch amp models, I assume from what you have written that it would power the factory component speakers and the new sub addition... the 3Sixty needs to run all the speakers in the system, for example if the rears and centre still run from the deck they will not be amplified, processed and the aux input will not operate - in other words ALL RUNNING SPEAKERS NEED TO BE 3SIXTY'D AND AMPLIFIED. I hope this helps.

Yeah, I was going to run all my speakers thru the 3sixty, then amp.

This has helped a fair bit... but I am no closer to my decision.. lol... I still need to shop around i guess. nea.gif

ANyone have any suggestions on some simple (cheap) 4 channel amps... crossovers aren't required.

I would recommend alpine PXE-H650. it give you nearly everything you ever wanted. RF 360 is too rough for me term of fine tuning the system. I play with it once in my friend car. can't tune the system accurately TA is nearly useless. XOV is ok thuogh.
