Extra Info: Two 360 consoles although one is stuffed, i originally bought it on ebay and when i turned it on it had the red light thing, i took it to the shop to get fixed and they said they fixed it but still needed to flash the hard drive or something, anyways instead i just went and bought another one. So maybe you could fix it or just use it for spares.

The Newer good one was only bought 9 months ago and is still under waranty.

The are also 3 controllers two wire-less and one not, a dvd remote and i have a heap of connections VGA, HDTV etc

a mate of mine has that problem with the red light... he has a weird method of fixing it (maybe its just his) he puts a towel over it and turns it on and leaves it for 30mins or so and then restarts it and it seems to work again... he rekons its some soldering on his and he said (not sure if its true) that its a common problem? and the towel heats it up and makes the connections better or something... LOL

its a common problem but that towel trick works but not for long itll still flash red....i once opened mine up and i undone the screws where the pwoer plugs in but i didnt know they were loose and it went all red (RRoD) left it for a few weeks didnt know wtf was up then came one day i opend it up and checked EVERY screw and noticed the power connection was loose tightend them up turnd it on voila workd and that was 7 months ago

I'm pretty sure if you contact Microsoft Australia this know issue with the red light if its covered under warranty they will just repair/replace the unit

Xbox does NOT cover the red light issue, i have had 3 xbox's and they all did the same thing, They have over a 50% Fail rate....

yeah the seal has been broken, it did have the 3 ring problem but i took it too get fixed they charged me 150 bucks and said they fixed the 3 rings problems but needed to flash the hard-drive which would only cost about 60 bucks or so.

the broken one doesn't have a HDD because i didn't need to buy another HDD when i bought my good one

i will be travelling through sydney in a couple weeks time so i can deliver it then.

Finally i just won't to get rid of the entire lot but if two people want to work something out then i can do that.

I meant...does the newer 360 have a HDMI output. I have cables, I just want to see if my HDMI cable has a home at the back of the 360.

the xbox 360 supports hdmi, but you have to buy their cable. so no, your hdmi cable doesnt work, unless it was specifically made for the console.

Just to let you know. I only just last week got my 08/06 built Xbox 360 back from the red ring of death repair. The xbox had been opened AND it had the chip installed to play copied games and they still repaired it perfect and gave me a free month of xbox live. Didn't cost me a cent.
