Hey guys I have another question I went to Autobarn and got suggested the following speakers for my missuses car she "wants to hear everything u know how in some songs there is soft or different frequencys that u dont hear on crap speakers but do on say good headphones". Im thinking there goes a grand atleast on speakers. The guy suggested the following. Note this is for front and rear

TS-D1720C - 17cm Packaged Component Speaker System 260W Max power handling $249
Pioneer says: TS-D. Extraordinary detailed, accurate sound To create new TS-D series speakers, Pioneer developed the industry’s first basalt fibre made from natural rock interwoven with aramid fibre which combined provides for outstanding low and mid bass range fidelity, low distortion as well as extraordinarily detailed, accurate sound reproduction.

He also suggested

TS-A1702C - 17cm Packaged Component Speaker System with 260W Max power handling $349

Pioneer says: TS-A. Powerful Sound and bass TS-A speakers deliver powerful sound with great emphasis on higher frequencies and bass. TS-A range speakers are all delivered with the bulletproof performance of a KEVLAR® cone.

What I cant work out is they need to go loudish but need to sound quality the TS-D's say they can do that but the TS-A's cost more, what way should I go. Below is the comparison chart. Im lost with speakers now there is too mcuh tech in them lol. Or should i stick with the Alpine SPS171A speakers I already have

Did you guys have a listen to the speakers? If you did then you should be able to know whether they will play to your liking or not.

No cause of time limits but i dunno doesnt the sound board sound basically the same as every speaker on there cause of the setup?

The problem is that you've got your prices wrong... The TS-D1720C are actually the more expensive ones.

TS-D1720C - $399
TS-A1702C - $229

Most speakers will still sound different on demo boards, they will also sound a bit different to when they are in the car, but I don't know if it is much if any real difference. Some argue that a demo board is a better place to audition then in a car, as most demo boards are the same, whereas each car has different volumes of air, sound deadening, position etc.

Still the best option is to go out and have a listen to a range of speakers, and decide what you like best. It isn't a perfect solution, but really it's more feasible then trying to hear each speaker in a car.

Also, I'd ditch buying rear speakers, or spend max of $100 on them, as you want the best possible front speakers you can buy, so don't waste money where it isn't needed (in the rear). Chuck in a 2/4 channel amp and you will be looking around the $1k mark.

<< all of the above, but above all else, just listen...then listen, and then decide

don't go off other ppls idea's, let your gurl listen and she can decide...no speaker will make her bum look big so it should be quicker than getting her a new pair of shoes lol

if she says a speaker looks better, then get your blindfold out...if'n you have one wink.gif
