hi guys, i want the genuine eb/ed smartlock and ill do anything to put it in.
what else is required, so far i have the ign lock and module plug and ign lock plug, and i know you also need ecu/module itself.
how exactly do i fit smartlock to a non smartlock eb2 fairmont 4L sedan auto.
can i please have a instruction guide on fitting smartlock from start to finish.
is it much trouble as some people done it and it worked.
i want the genuine smartlock and ill do what it takes to put it in.
do i also have to replace the central controller in a non smartlock eb2 fairmont with one that came from a smartlock eb2 fairmont(as i have the central controller(green box for fairmont) in the shed) or can i leave it and only add the smartlock box(red) as theyre seperate.
will a full eb2 fairmont dash harness plug straight into a non smartlock eb2 fairmont harness and by doing that will everything work including the smartlock or is it easier to tap wires.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE DO A STICKY THREAD ON ADDING SMARTLOCK TO A NON SMARTLOCK EB2 PLEASE AS THERES SO MANY PEOPLE INCLUDING ME THAT WANT TO KNOW HOW TO ADD SMARTLOCK.
THANKS

im sorry, i dont think this is the right section of the forums for this thread...
as this is for the CarPuter scene, i would suggest getting the post moved to the electronics section

Can't you just get a Smartlock Bypass module. And i always thought the series 2 has smartlock as mine does.

im pretty sure you will need the computer that came from the car that the ignition came from.
there is a sort of security system in the ingnition housing where as when you turn the key the plate at the bottom go's over a sensor and talkes to the computer telling it to unlock, im pretty sure that these either need to be programed in properly or you need matching pair's.
been along time since i did smart lock training, but it's a head f*** and i would forget about it.
it's not worth the hassle.
spend your money on a GOOD alarm and it will be 100x's better than smart lock.

We've got 3 smart lock cars and I don't even know what it does. Must be useless
