Hi all,
New to the site, thought it was time to show off what I have done so far.
The whole system will be rebuilt within the next 4 months before i get my licence.

I started off with an old e-vecta that was very quicly scrapped due to power issues.
my aim was to take the shroud arround the radio, cut it up, and fit a head unit and usb touch in the shroud

i took mesurements, and was about 3mm short, but i did it anyway.

unfortunitly there was an airconditioning box behind the lcd, which prevents the head unit from sitting flush with the new shroud

once i realised that the e-vectra wasnt going to work, i found a micro-atx board with onboard video

built it into a little box to sit behind the passanger seat

meanwhile, trimmed up some 16mm MDF and neatened up the rear wall
mounted the amp that was powering two subs in the tub, the subs are now for sale and the amp will be powering the two front speakers when i retrim the whole interior.

i set up a dual battery system, pretty dodgy setup.. i almost paid the price for it.

the day i came home from summernats this year, we disconnected the car fridge and shorted something out, I nearly lost the car to the fire it caused next to the fuel tank.
that peice of wood caught on fire. as did all the cables, and melted a lot of the cables back to the rear taillights on the right hand side.

i than went and spent many dollars doing it properly, every cable relating to the system was replaced with quality gear, 1000amp master switches, fuses

i'm currently saving my pennies to re-trim the interior, statesman dash, tan leather seat retrim, new door trims, new carpet... i have just done the roof lining

here is the interior currently (ignore the lines on the seat, just used that when deciding on ideas for the seats)

and here is the car..

The car itself if

mate, sorry for the slow reply
yep, scrap the head unit, run RCA's into the amp and go from there.
you could fabricate the lilliput 629gl into that whole surround, run the cables back to a PC in the boot, run your amps in the boot and easy! just a usb cable upto the glove box, hub it, plug the dvd into it, mini keyboard if you wish, leave a spot for a memory stick. and yea!
any questions, contact me through "contact us" in my link below, unfortunatly i'm not here all the time
cheers.
