Edit: playing with baffle layout now have 230sqin, theres nothing left in it without using circular ports But i'd still love to hear comments on the original question. Port area vs box size.




Is it worth going from say 20cubes net to 16 cuebs net if im stuck at 136.4 sq in of port?

Will the extra sqin per cube be worth while?

I guesstimate i have about 22 cubes total,

@ 20 cubes its 6.82 sqin per cube
@ 18 cubes its 7.55 sqin per cube
@ 16 cubes its 8.52 sqin per cube

box is for 8 2512s off atleats 1kw each & i would love it to be a low mother tuned to 25-30hz. So the bigger the box the better, but I dont have the port area available without clamshelling or something else crazy which will loose me cubes too IF I run the "DD 16"" idea, will i run into loading issues, windows down, on the low stuff? Am i better off sacraficing some port area for loading?
