Hey guys,

Lats nite george you mentioned i could run stock a... i've read the rules, the only difference is that i can't use test tones you must use music?? now that we know that the rattler peaks at 54htz, how could i find music to suit that?? or can you produce your own?? eg if i made a dance track that went for 50 secs with a beat @ 54htz?? it made some mentions about use of ones inside of the music, I read it that you couldn't just add test tones too music for the hell of it but it it was actually part of the track then it's all cool??

^^ Music used n Street Stock classes must be commercially available, brought over he counter.
In Street Stock classes you have a 1000w amp limit and the box can be a bit over window line. (within reason)
In Street classes amp power is limitless and sub enclosures must be under window line.

So online pay per download dosn't count??
Selfdestruktor
Nope.
Because you could get your MP3 and superimpose your 54Hz tone over it before burning to a disc.

Thus cheating smile.gif

Edit: Wait a minute, I just read on the Termpro forums that you could use burned CD's and MP3's in Bassrace. Does that also mean that it's legal in the Street Stock classes???
How on earth are you supposed to stop people cheating?

Competitors may use the program material of their choice while competing.

Additional Guidelines:

The program material being played must originate from a source unit that is specifically designed for installation and operation in a 12-Volt auto sound environment. This includes cassette decks, CD players and changers, DVD players and changers, VCR's and VCP's, MP3 units, AM / FM / Satellite radio tuners, and any other playback device that is specifically designed for installation and operation in a 12-Volt auto sound environment.
The program material may consist of music, test tones, or any other type of recorded audio signal.
The program media may be from a commercial source (such as a CD you purchase) or a custom, homemade recording.
Tone generators, frequency multipliers, harmonizers, etc. are prohibited.
Exceptions:

Competitors must use the officially approved dB Drag Racing competition CD at all multi-point events. If an event takes place prior to the release of the official CD, then the previous year's CD may be used in the interim. (Please visit www.termpro.com/dbdrag/rules for more information regarding the current season's officially approved CD.)

Home made recordings.... what do they mean about tone generators?? i've been using a tone generator to produce a test tone disk?? (untill phil gave me one wink.gif ) dose this make my test disk illegal??

Street Stock Division

The Street Stock classes are intended for normal, after market auto sound systems. The equipment permitted in these classes is restricted to the "consumer-grade" components that are sold everyday at auto sound retail establishments. Veteran contestants, competition teams, and "hardcore" competitors are encouraged to compete in one of our other divisions.

Only amps and woofers on the currently approved dB Drag Racing product list may be used.
Vans, CRX's, Panda's (or Panda derivatives), and commercial vehicles are prohibited from competing in the Street Stock Division.
Contestants must play music when competing. Test tones (or songs containing test tones) are prohibited.
Street Stock A Class - A maximum of 1 subwoofer amplifier (or 2 externally bridged monoblock amplifiers) may be used. A maximum TOTAL of 4 electrical conductors per sub may be used to connect the amplifier to the woofer(s). (Please see the definitions section for more detail regarding conductors.)

One 15-inch woofer
OR a maximum of two 12-inch woofers
OR a maximum of three 10-inch woofers
OR a maximum of four 8-inch woofers

Must be commercial music, so a musical test track off DB Jams is valid??

Sorry to be a pain just trying to work out my plan of attack....
gsaqua
If you can buy the CD from a music store you can use it, I have never seen DB Jam in any store and I think it's only available from DB Drag racing.
No you can't make your own CD even with normal classes you must use DB jam, at multi point events Angelo supplies the CDs to be used.
bigwillystyle
fair enuf... that clears that up... It makes sence levels the feild back to equipment... so in street a i can use db jams??
gsaqua
Correct, but you have a 15 don't you that would be street b
bigwillystyle
Sorry my bad.... Stock a..
BTW i've just fixed that rattling panel and when putting my amp back in i discovered that the gain was on min... theres more db in that box.... lol
gsaqua
Lets start again street stock A commercially available music CD
Street A DB Jam
bigwillystyle
Lol I am thick 2nite arnt I....
Fudd
what happens if its commercialy available but no available on CD? there is alot of electronic music out there that you can only buy via the web...
bigwillystyle
Valid point but to avoid any sort of modification they have drawn a line in the sand to stop cheating... I agree but as i was thinking origanlly make a track to my personall specifications put it up on mp3.com where people can pay to download and whamo my personal sound off track is now commercially avalable... by having a over the counter cd it makes it harder to cheat... not impossible with that you can do with printing cd's now but theres alot more effort involved to try to pull the wool over the eye's of the officials... I now understand that it's not to make it harder but to make it fairer to everybody. as somebody with the right programs and ability could really make a massive difference to the final outcome with some talor made music...
Angelo
Comerically available CD's are the only medium for data allowed in dB Drag Racing.

The cd's must be purchased from a legitimate source.

There are no burnt or copied disc allowed.

At all multipoint events the current dB Jams CD must be used

The point of street stock is for new competitors, if you want to make it complicated then please move onto the street, street max, super street or extreme classes.

This class is for the average car sound enthusist to play in, with average equipment as listed in the rules section and not be scared away by seasoned competitors hitting big numbers.

This class will be MONITERED here in Australia by myself, anyone who seems not to be competing in the spirit of this class will be asked to move along into another class.

Just because competitors are not hitting big numbers in another class will NOT be an excuse for them to drop down to street stock classes.

Please leave these classes for the novices

Cheers Angelo

So the street stock class has to use the music tracks of db jams at multipoint events or could they use the official bass race cd?
bigwillystyle
Angleo i'm brand new to this, i was running street b as thats the class i was in when i entered my first comp at autobarn, my only worry was i have $1000 system. Most of the guys running street b spend more than that on their amp let alone eveything else... I was just trying to find out the boundaries of this class so that i can put a number down and not be disqualified... The rules on music are not really clear...
Angelo
Street Stock classes - any comerically produced music, you don't have to use dB Jams

Try and keep this class a fun class guys

Cheers Angelo
