gday all. i currently have an alpine CDA-9887r headunit, pdx amps , boston SL60s all round and a Type S sub. Is it worth me getting an alpine processor? will i notice an improvement in clarity if i get someone to tune it right? thanks in advance

Perhaps try the imprint software tuning first.
The H701 processor has loads of functions but you really need to know what you are doing, else you'll just make your sound worst.

and with the gear you have, i really wouldnt consider it cost effective to buy a $1000 processor (pxa-h701+rux-c701)
go the imprint software tuning first, as suggested

also, the 9887 has no digital output, so you'd be having to use the noisy analog inputs.
go for the imprint first, as the 9887 has it built-in, no? or something

thanks for the heads up gentlemen. cant really get my head around all the db + and - and octave waves and all that. hard to take what i read and transcipt it to what im hearing. the software is good but a bit tricky for me to configure. i understand the time correction but i have no clue how to set the 7 point graphic equaliser and the crossover. i kinda understand the crossover thing. cut off points and what not but the equaliser i have no understanding of how to set it up. anyone want a slab to set it up for me?

9887 do not have imprint, they have the ability to use imprint - you require the imprint kit, or a better option, is to go to your local alpine dealer, who will have the kit themselves, and ask them to use it on ur car....might take 1hr and cost $50-$100max
its one of those things ur likely to only use once - better to pay <$100 once off, rather than $300 for the kit which will only get used once...maybe twice
